Introduction
The process of implementing a business idea into a start-up for the purpose of earning
profits is known an entrepreneurship. It refers to the creation of value through providing
consumer with goods and services which is related with factors of risk taking and applying
innovation in the process. In this presentation, a new business proposal plan of a bakery is being
showcased considering all the relevant elements.
Type and description of business
The business of bakery would operate under the label of “ Sweet tooth bakers” which
would be sole proprietorship. This business proposal plan is associated with establishment of a
enterprise dealing in cakes, pastries and confectionery items etc. Sweet tooth bakers would be
dealing in providing consumers with a range of varieties in cakes and pastries, muffins,
puddings as well as various confectionery items.
Business objectives
The objectives of this business is to cater the requirements of a range of individuals
through offering the finest quality of items and customisation in products.
It aims at building a brand image and to gain significant recognition in the market and in
the mind of consumers (Swangnop, Duangdee and Duangdee, 2019).
The business is determined to achieve social objectives as well as through dealing in fair
practices and conducting businesses in ethical manner.
The economic objectives of this start-up is to attain substantial growth within a year
through earning high profitability margins.

The bakery industry is a significant and prominent business sector in United kingdom
which provides consumers with a wide alternatives and choices. The market of bakery sector in
UK approximately accounts for generation of revenues in £3.9 billions marking it as a very
relevant industry of the nation (Market information, 2022). The market in this industry is full of
potential rivals and the availability of various substitutes including gluten free and healthy
options creating tough competition for “Sweet tooth bakers”.

Operational plan
This business would operate in a rented space which is to be situated at a centre location
in London to attract maximum individuals and ensure maximum customer engagement. For the
purpose of performing commercial operations of the enterprise, a shop having area of 1000 sq. ft
would be occupied having two floors. On ground floor, all the display of the cakes, pastries,
muffins and other confectionery items would be set up. The area of ground floor will be
specifically for customer services such as taking orders from customers, making payments and
other such services (Zaidi and et.al., 2021). A counter for display as well as payments will be
installed in the space as well as minimal furniture will be acquired to provide consumers with
seating services. This floor will be having aesthetic ambience where individuals can enjoy
minimal dining experience with friends and family as well as to have some me time. On first
floor, the enterprise would be having its baking and cooking functions with the help of relevant
labour-force. The first floor will be accommodated with kitchen appliances such as refrigerator
and microwave as well as other cooking items.
The operational plan for this business would be supported with efficient labour in order
to produce commodities for selling purpose. In order to manage the functions of the enterprise,
the sole proprietor of the bakery would mostly perform the activities of management. For the
purpose of creation of commodities, the owner would workers to bake goods as well as for the
serving purpose (Park, 2020). The owner will hire two cooks and two waiters and will entirely
manage all other accounting and costing functions. Furthermore, the entrepreneur has to make
arrangements of raw material through finding a permanent supplier probably a wholesaler to use
economies of scale.
Strategy for growth and development
To attain progress in the long run, in initial phases, the enterprise would focus upon
delivering consumers high quality of cakes and pastries at relatively lower prices. Sweet
tooth will utilise economies of scale and procure raw materials in bulk so that it can
minimise its costs and provide consumers items at reasonable prices.
The enterprise will also be engaging in customisation of items where cakes will be
designed according to specifications of customers. This will help the Sweet Tooth Bakers
to attract consumers who wants specialised items at best prices. Moreover it would yield

best produce by offering gluten-free and low sugar and low fat items (Ross, Beath and
Mocker, 2019).
The business will promote its operations through online platforms in order to create
awareness among customers and attract them towards the services of business through
posting creative content.
Justification and viability of business idea
This business idea is viable in the long run as consumers are inclined towards products of
confectionery and cakes and pastries are always enjoyable by individuals. There is a growing
trend among consumers for gluten-free and low sugar substitutes of cakes and breads and thus it
would attract maximum number of customers. The particular reason for choosing this business as
any sector under food and beverage industry is a viable option in the long run (Franceschelli,
Santoro and Candelo, 2018). Cakes and pastries are always enjoyable and is high in demand in
celebrations and parties. This is viable idea as kids and youngsters shows huge consumption
patterns in this particular industry and thus it is high in demand. The owner of the business will
hire highly skilled bakers who can design customised cakes and thus it would attempt at
inducing its customer base.
Conclusion
From this presentation it has been concluded that a businesses start-up is associated with
strategical planning of objectives and operational plans. Furthermore, implementation of these
plans in practice is quite a challenging task which requires high expertise and skills of
management. The business plan of opening a bakery seems viable in the long run as it is an
emerging trend among consumers and the consumption of breads and cakes as well as muffins
and other confectionery items.
