Barriers and Facilitators to Achieving Compliance with Evidence Based Nursing Practice_2

INTRODUCTION
Evidence based practice is the practice which is based on the scientific evidence which helps
in framing the practice at large scale Brownson, Fielding & Green, (2018).
Thus, the report will analyse that the patient centred care should be the foundation of EBP.
The barriers and facilitators to achieve compliance with evidence based nursing practice will
help in analyzing and creating value as to how effectively knowledge will be drawn at large
scale. Further, strategies to help decrease non – compliance to the policy will also be framed.
Moreover, recommendations will also be provided for maintaining adherence to policy or
clinical practice guidelines.
MAIN BODY
Barriers and facilitators to achieving compliance with evidence based nursing practice
The adoption of evidence based practice (EBP) is hindered by several barriers which are
mentioned and are described as follows –
Firstly, lack of time is often cited as predominant barrier to EBP which majorly affects the
practice and this also makes the practice difficult while addressing the aspect as to how the
practice is being carried out. Due to lack of time the preparation of EBP denotes that there are
difficulties in preparing the evidence based nursing practice at large scale.
Care of patients’ is at the core of EBP. However, according to Cowie, Nicoll & Duncan,
(2020), insufficient time also creates problem in how the practice should be framed and this
misbalances the aspect of how the time should be framed at large scale. This also denotes that
practice must be proper time framed so that there are no details which are missed. Compliance
with EBP also places additional demands on nurses which include the aspect as to how
effectively the evidence based nursing practice is incorporated and the evidence is collected for
best practice to be continued and this creates the major factor as to how the decision making and
work is being carried out by the nurses so that the nursing practice is framed to be effectively
proven to be best evidence collected so far and provides all the information at large scale
Duncombe, (2018).
Complying with EBP helps in creating value and understands the role of the nurse as they
are the major facilitators of the practice which is being carried at large scale. The evidence based
