The prime determination of the paper is to focus on the basic concepts such as J.I.T,
Kanban, Takt-Time, Muda, Jidoka, Genchi genbutsu, Standardization, Kaizen, 5S’s,
Environmental management system ISO 14001 and Health and safety management system
18001 of TPS (Toyota Production Systems).
Discussion
Just-in-Time
The time in the production houses can be minimised effectively in Toyota Production
houses with the Just-In-Time manufacture (Balakrishnan 2015). This aspect helps in lowering
the labour costs and improvement of the quality of service offered by this organization.
Kanban
It is defined as the type of scheduling system used in the TPS for the JIT manufacturing
and the lean manufacturing. The manufacturing efficiency of TPS can be improved significantly
with the use of this scheduling system.
Takt-time
It is defined as the average time between the start of one unit of the production and the
next unit of the production. This aspect is applied in the Toyota Production Systems. The flow of
good can be managed effectively with the help of this process.
Muda
It is defined as the uselessness in the lean process thinking. Categories of Muda are Muda
type II and the Muda Type I. The Muda Type I is very much essential for the consumers of this
