INTRODUCTIONIn present era organisations are using cloud computing network to avoid cyber attack. Ithelps in providing separate storage media that is not visible to users. This helps in sharing dataand information without any intervention (Galegher, Kraut and Egido 2014). But, organisationneeds to select cloud storage on the basis of data and users. It is because cloud computing isimpacting the efficiency of business operations. Due to the latest technological developmentcompanies are facing various security issues regarding cloud storage. This report will showfeatures needed in cloud storage and services offered by cloud storage providers. Moreover, comparison between public, private ad hybrid cloud storage is done. In next section the benefitsand challenges are discussed while using cloud computing in organisation.MAIN BODY:Cloud computing means a service model for maintaining, storing data and informationthat is shared over a network (Lehmann and Joseph 2015).It is available to users who areinvolved in data sharing. Cloud computing uses separate storage devices that are not visible tousers. This helps in preventing users to access data and reducing cyber crimes. There are severalservice providers that provide cloud computing services. They are having their own polices andrules regarding this. Security measures such as encryption and authentication are in built intotheir services. A cloud storage have its own infrastructure that includes database, systems, devices, etc. This adds to cost of organisation. Besides this, each cloud storage is having somespecific features that helps in measuring performance of network. It helps organisation to selectwhat type of model will be beneficial for them to implement. There are certain features that mustbe considered while selecting the cloud storage (Xiang, Magnini and Fesenmaier 2015). Theseare given as follows:-Features of cloud storage:-File versioning-This feature describes that different file must exist in a system at same time. This helps in storing files of various extensions such as . Doc, etc. The storage should enable thisfeature so that deleted or corrupted file can be retrieved. It also helps in comparing files whileretrieving so that user is ensured about what file version he is getting. Also, it is useful inbacking up of files in various locations. With this, polices and rules can be developed to saveimportant files.1
Top- notch security-It is a major issue that every organisation is concerned about. This mustbe considered firstly while selecting cloud storage model (Kavanagh and Johnson 2017). It helpsin determining how secured the model is. In cloud storage security is related to protecting thefiles on websites, database, etc. it also includes getting back up of files in case of damage or loss. Each model is having its own security measures and policies.. Therefore, there are certain pointsfor this:-Looking privacy policy-It consists of how information is used by users. Also, what riskis involved while sharing files with outside agencies.Understanding the features-there are various solutions offered by cloud serviceproviders. These all must be understood before making any decision. These featuresinclude password, file encryption, file authentication, etc.Flexible storage capacity-The second most important features that needs to be considered isstorage capacity. It is because data needs to be backed up every time (Laudon and Laudon 2016)Also, storage devices must be flexible so that data can retrieved easily. Moreover, storagecapacity depends upon the size and data of organisation. According to it model is chosen. Forthis two factors needs to be kept in mind while selecting this feature :-How much space is used by current file-It describes that how much is the size ofcurrent file. It helps in defining the size of database. What are the future needs-It is necessary to think of what the future needs are. Thenaccordingly size of database plan is selected.Quality customer support-Along with storage capacity and security measures it is importantthat cloud storage must respond to customer problems in effective way (Azar and Vaidyanathan2015). The issues must be identified and solved quickly. This will help in increasing customersupport and dealing with them. For this two things are noted:-Storage solution documentation-It helps in finding solutions available to supportdocuments.Don't hesitate to make contact-While dealing with any complex problem, experts helpcan be taken. It helps in reducing further issues that can arise and cutting costs which arespent on solving issues.2
