Self Reflection Report
What I learnt
By analyzing and evaluating the report that has been presented to me I have learned about the
importance of the initiative of the Beach Cleaning Event which had been organized by the Local
Corporate Social Responsibility Group. It has also helped me understand that all the members of
the society have to act responsibly and take part in the initiative to clean the beaches and spread
awareness about how dirty and unhygienic beaches have become in Malaysia due to the
negligence of the citizens.
Oceans provide a habitat to fishes and marine animals, attracts vacationers from all over the
world and sustains complex costal ecosystems. Beach pollution is constituted by:
Solid wastes such as picnic bags, plastic bags, picnic plates, cigarette buds and plastic
bottles
Storm Water Run off
Ageing sewage treatment plants
Polluted water from roads, cities and farms
Oil spills which happened accidentally.
Therefore it is of utmost importance to keep the beaches pollution free. This initiative aimed to
change the mindset and the attitude of the people about letting others clean up the mess made by
them. By taking part in the event I have learned that it is quintessential to work together as a
team setting aside differences for the purpose of attaining the desired objectives and goals. The
event of cleaning up the beaches not only involved picking up trash that had accumulated on the
beaches and the seashores but also enjoying a quick dip in the sea as a refreshment after the
