Introduction
 Behaviorism is regarded as the systematic approach for the understanding of behavior
of responses of humans.
 Behaviorism in psychology is treated as a learning which is based on the
conditioning(Baum, 2016).
 It is based on the idea that all the behaviors are acquired through the interactions with
the environment.

History of Behaviorism
 John B. Watson who is the father of behaviorism has established behaviorism in 1913.
 This theory has become prominent in the school of psychology in 1920 and through
mid of 1950s.
 Behaviorism gained popularity when it was established as an objective and
measurable science.

Behaviorism and Psychology
 Behaviorism is the systematic and observable manners which are regardless of the
internal mental status.
 Behavioral psychology is the manner by which psychologist study the actions through
the operational and classical conditioning(Zilio, 2016).
 Through the operational conditioning, the actions are learnt by consequences and in
classical conditioning, humans associate two stimuli with each other.

Application of Behaviorism
 This can be applied to the behavioral therapy for behavioral modification.
 Educational application can be seen from the classroom environment which is affected
by behaviorism.
 Behaviorism can be applied to the relationships, moral development and depression.

 Helpful in making modifications in real
world situations.
 Emphasis on observable and
measurable behaviors.
Limitations
 Does not counts the biological
influences.
 Difficulty in the explanation of all
learning.
 This does not considers the feelings,
thoughts or mood.

Conclusion
 To conclude, it can be said that behaviorism makes easy the learning of human
behaviors.
 This specifically considers the external responses of the humans and can be helpful in
examining their behaviors.
