The term Alternative Energy is used to define any forms of energy that can be
considered as an alternative to the fossil fuel sources of energy. Alternative energy sources
are used to state the concerns regarding those of the fossil fuels like the emissions of large
amounts of carbon dioxide which plays an important factor in the issues of global warming.
According to the opinions of certain historians, the individuals transitioning into the use of
alternative energy sources plays an important role in changing the economies of the countries
significantly. It is exactly for these reasons that the use of the alternative energy sources has
been considered to be one of the best forms of energy for the use of the human beings.
Alternative energy sources, if used by the human beings, can help them in overcoming the
problems that the humans face with those of the renewable and the non-renewable energy
sources. Hence the scientists are suggesting the use of alternative energy sources.
The purpose of this essay is to determine how humans as well as the economy of
the country can benefit from the use of the alternative energy sources
Alternative Energy sources are considered to a part of the renewable energy
resources. As a result, it can be said that the use of the alternative energy resources can be
used not only in the benefit of mankind themselves but can also be used in the benefit of the
economy of the country as well. Humans beings should start their use of the alternative
energy resources because it will cost them much lesser money than they have done with the
non-renewable sources of the energy. There are various reasons why the alternative energy
sources are considered to be beneficial for mankind and the economy of the nations.
As stated by Abas (50), the first reason for this is that the alternatives energy sources
are known to benefit the environment. This is explained by the fact that the wind and the
solar sources are known to be free of emissions. Therefore, the alternative energy sources
release less amounts of pollutants into the atmosphere and also prevents the pollutants to be

released in the water itself. Hence, it can be seen that the alternative energy sources are
considered to be beneficial for the human beings. Other reasons why the alternative energy
sources are considered to be beneficial for mankind includes the reasons that it is more
reliable for the mankind than the use of the non-renewable resources. This is explained by the
fact that the alternative energy resources help to provide the humans with uninterrupted
electricity which makes the alternative energy sources the best sources of electrical energy
for the mankind, It is needless to say that these energy sources supplying electricity will also
cost much lesser to the humans than the cost of electricity through the use of the non-
renewable sources (Bidwell, 130). Therefore, it can be seen that the use of alternative energy
sources can be used for the benefit of the mankind.
As stated by Zanchi (130), however, there are other reasons why the use of alternative
energy resources is useful for that of the mankind and the economy of the country. These
refers to the economic benefits that the use of the alternatives energy sources. It is seen that
the use of the alternative energy sources have been labour intensive as well as localized,
which can involve the use of localized labours. As a result of this, the labours are able to find
work which allow them to earn for their families. Moreover, alternative energy sources can
provide the equality in jobs for the labours as they involve the expansion of the jobs in the
construction, maintenance, manufacturing as well as the operation of services. Therefore,
these are the jobs which require a lot of labour movements. The labours can thus involve
themselves in such jobs which will help them in earning money. Thus, it is truly said that the
alternative energy sources can be used to help the economy of the country by providing
equality of the jobs. This is one of the important reasons why the human beings should start
using the alternatives sources of energy. Alternative energy sources not only improve the
economy of the country but also helps top stop the releasing of pollutants into the atmosphere
(Faunce, 696).

There are other ways which states that the alternative energy sources can also be
helpful to the humans and the economy of the country. It has been proved by the historians
that the alternative energy has been used by the humans since the ancient times when they
used such fuels as replacement for those that causes pollution in the environment. These
includes the use of coal as the alternatives to the burning of the woods in the forests as
burning of woods led to large amounts of deforestation in the forests. Therefore, the use of
the soft coal would help the people to find a replacement foe wood while at the same time
preventing the deforestation in the forests. Similarly, in the past, the people used petroleum as
a form of alternative sources of energy instead of using the whale oil as the use of the whale
oil was leading to an increase of the prices of the oil in the markets. Therefore, it was
becoming difficult for the people to use oils because of its increasing prices. Therefore, they
considered the use of petroleum as an alternative to that of the whale oil. The alternative of
petroleum not only helped not only the people to use a fuel that is less costly than that of the
whale oils but also helped save the population of the whales in the ocean.
All these use of the alternative fuels points out to the readers about the importance as
well as the benefits of using such fuels by the humans. Some experts also state that there have
been certain advancements that have been made in the field of new uses of the alternative
fuels for the benefits of mankind. These includes the use of fuels such as carbon-neutral and
also those of the negative gases which are synthetic fuels which do not lead to the increase of
the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Similarly, these gases can also lead to reducing the
costs of the imported fossil fuels as they will be used as an alternative to that of the fossil
fuels. The second method that will be used as a new way alternative fuel is the use of algae
fuel that can help in the making of power building systems as well as producing the energy
for various activities by the humans (Plevin, 200). Algae fuel can also be used in the process
of the fertile growth of the food crops in the arable lands. The third new method that can be

used includes biogas digestion, which can help the humans in the production of electricity
generation. They can also be used in the form of energy source for various products in the
market.
As stated by Mahila (66), from all these old as well as the new sources of the uses of
the alternative energy, it can be claimed that the alternative energy sources are indeed helpful
for the humans as well as maintaining the economy of the country in such a manner so that
the people of the country are easily able to afford these energy sources foe their day to day
activities. As stated by Koroneos (260), people can use the alternative energy sources to
perform various activities which they would be able to do easily as the prices of these
alternative energy sources will be lesser than those of the non-renewable energy sources
(Abas, 69). Moreover, since the alternative energy sources are considered to be a part of the
renewable energy resources, the humans need not to be worried about the sources of the
energy ending as these sources can be renewed again and again. Therefore, it can be said that
the alternative energy sources will not only help the humans in providing a replacement from
the non-renewable energy resources, but will also improve the economy of the countries by
providing the equality of the work that is needed by the labourers in the country. Thus, it can
be said that the alternative energy sources are indeed a necessity for the human beings.
However, just like the advantages of the alternative fuels, there also exists its
disadvantages. As it is said that every product has its advantages as well as its disadvantages,
similarly alternative fuel us also known to have its advantages as well as its disadvantages.
The first disadvantage that the alternative energy suffers from is that it is not a constant
source of energy (Faunce, 696). This is proved by the fact that the solar panels depend on the
weather conditions. If a particular day is not sunny, then that day will not get mush energy.
The second disadvantage is that the alternative energy sources is that they are extremely
costly. Since this is a costly form of energy, therefore many people may not be able to afford

these energy sources which makes it a sort of disadvantageous for them. The third
disadvantage that is suffered by the sources of alternative energy sources is that it is produced
in much smaller quantities in comparison to the actual demands of energy in the world. As
stated by Bidwell (199), this is a disadvantage for the energy source because it is not able to
keep up with that of the needs and the demands of the energy by the population of the world.
Therefore, the alternative energy sources suffer from drawbacks in all these sectors.
Despite the drawbacks suffered by the alternative energy sources, it is still being said
that the alternative energy sources can be a suitable replacement for the non-renewable
energy sources. Although these energy sources are costly, but at the same time they are
renewable, which means the human beings would not have to worry about the source of the
energy ending. Thus, they can use the energy resources without having to think about the
energy sources finishing up. It is because of all these reasons that the alternative energy
sources are considered to be the next big thing for the human beings that can replace the non-
renewable sources of the energy (Zanchi, 130).
From the above discussions in the above paragraphs, it can be concluded that the
alternative energy sources is indeed one of the best replacements of the non-renewable
energy sources for the mankind. It is because of this energy resources that the economy of the
country will be improved with the use of such energy sources. Hence, it can be said that the
alternative energy sources are indeed the future of the energy sources in the worlds as well as
its economy.
