Introduction
This essay brings about the perception of J. K. A. Smith on the formation of person`s
worldview. J. K. A. Smith is known as “academic rock star” and “a faithful guide.” The core
that affects the worldview of a person is cultural liturgies. The goal of J. K. A. Smith is to
highlight the importance of ancient Christian culture and develop the faith in the people to
adopt the daily secular culture (Afsar, Badir and Kiani, 2016).
How is a person’s worldview formed?
According to Smith, believe system of a person towards the world is formed through
spirituality. There are people who seek knowledge of the nutrients such as vitamins and
minerals. However, maintaining the body is equally important as maintaining the soul.
Sometimes people do not consider their view towards the ongoing world. People do not pay
proper attention to how knowledge concerning areas is related to view the world by applying
spiritual concepts (All about, 2018). Mainly, practical expressions of worldview can be seen
vividly to two major extents. The first is related to spiritual life and the other is related to
strengthening the personal faith for the worldview. Christian discipleship and spiritual
formation are less about building and creating the knowledge base (Aune, 2015). Worship
places and liturgies aims to create love for every end by training the hearts by our bodies.
“You are what you love” focuses on spiritual powers to build new ideas and develop the
human`s intellect in such a way that it takes the form of love. Sometimes it becomes
monotonous to repeat the same worship process repeatedly (Benson, 2018). The author
weakens the counter formative power of Christian worships because all the liturgies affirm
the same kind of secular prayers in the church. It can be said that worship works on overall
human behaviour to change the perception regarding worldview. In the worship process, a
person come to show the devotion and praises god (Schuurman, 2018). A person generally

praises the god in which he encounters God to make and mould the human personality from
top to down. Worship is the time when god recalibrates human`s heart, fulfil and reform the
wants, and habituates the loves. Worship is not at about praying god, it means it is not one
sided. God does something for us in return. The change of Worldview varies due to various
disclosures and disciplines related to religion (Norris, 2011). According to Smith, the goal of
relating the Christian education to worldview perception of a person is to remind the ancient
Christian beliefs, ideas, and doctrines (Goodreads, 2018). Moreover, the worldview is
influenced by a system of Christian beliefs, ideas, and doctrines. Liturgies helps to make an
person enable to change or form the worldview. A person`s desires and longings are the core
of one`s identity through the soul performs the daily activities. The most commendable link is
established between the human nature and biblical vision for changing the life of a person. A
fresh paradigm shift of different practises related to reformation of Christians has been
undertaken (Bhatti et al., 2016). The insight of consumer and national liturgy is not creating
faithful Christians but all types of liturgies. Liturgy helps to shape and improve the routine
schedule of a person with the imagination of love within the heart. This daily routine reveals
and finds the inner self (Bräker, 2015). When a person crosses the right virtues and commits
sins, in order to change the behaviour is to change the process and the way of worshipping
god. This time of worship is given for oneself to rethink and realise the right virtues ad what
is right and what is wrong. After the discussion of what is right or wrong. It is not mandatory
a decision of committing a sin is a self-decision. Any sort of perfection in an act can be
achieved ony through repetitive attempt of same deed (Cilliers, 2018). Repeatedly performing
an act can make us learn to fall in love which will assist in developing one`s personality. For
example- if a person is moved into a room and his deepest desire, which he never expected to
accomplish, was accomplished in the room. Desire can be selfish and dark. Continuous
fulfilling the selfish concerns of oneself transforms the worldview of a person (Gaisina et al.,

2015). Human desires are more like golf swings not equal to solving equation and reading
more books. The range of desires keep changing as soon as one desire is accomplished
human is tend to emerge a new desire with the need of the time. Variety of desires give
different experiences during the time when a person runs behind the desire to fulfil it. The life
experiences during learning new desires affect the capacity of a person to differ the
worldview (Miller, 2009). Moreover, James brings out the core teaching of Jesus on how to
worship that will affect the life of corporate people through Christian education. When the
human perception harms other people, it demands change. The role of Augustinian is to
define a person what he loves. The person who follows Augustinian, its main aim is to govern
the actions and pursuits related to future worldview of a person. Daily Schedule and routine
activities do have long lasting effect on souls (Donnell, 2018). Desires and wants lead to
undertake worship of Christian ideas. Usually a person worship to god for those things that he
wants or desires. Spirits cannot be caged through any reason of body existence. Many person
think the process of worshipping liturgies is a bit odd. The transformation of worldview`s
vision of an person formed through moral virtues emplacing an intellectual approach of
Christianity. Actions drive the effect from soul to body. An identity of a person is comprised
of new virtues, thoughts and ideas is formed regarding the world through which the
perception of person. A person discovers passion, vision, motive and strong will of a person,
which helps to transform the perception of a person for the worldview (Smith, 2013). Most
people seek for the practises, which help them to establish a particular schedule of worship as
their routine work and believe that worship can transform the personality and control the
process. According to Smith, protection of environment is the major concern where a
person`s attention should be drawn. Worship is the outcome of want and desires. A worship
is a tool to achieve the desires and wants. A concrete way to achieve the desire is similar to
work which can lead a person to earn a desired livelihood such as travel and retire. The will

to learn something what he loves is a way to shape the worldview. Society forms the
boundary around a person`s thinking such as thoughts and believe system f an person is
affected by the various social events. The society`s thinking is formed from the various social
and trade groups existing in the society. Therefore, a sole person cannot influence the whole
society. Despite of considering that people think about objects, the primarily though process
run behind the consideration that human being is a foremost lover in terms of God and
neighbour. Smith notifies the importance of Christian disciples by emphasizing the wrong
foot against virtues, ideas, and doctrine system. The people change their behaviour no only
by learning new things. Moreover, also what people want to grow by loving different things?
These lovers are the result of emerging new data and information, but they want to achieve it
by following new routine and habits. Christian philosophies and disciples are doubtful
whether theology and higher education is opening the block minds or closing them. New love
such as love for driving a car, playing a piano develops with the time. This learning attitude
has become the irremovable part of one`s personality through habituation and doing things
and end the process of doing things without thinking about them much (Wikström, 2018).
The book suggested “you are what you love” focuses on implementing the vantage of ancient
Christian education. This education enhances the improvement in promoting new ideas and
information that would help an individual to emerge as a leader. Christian education
comprises of Jesus learnings, Christian pattern of spending life, which will assist to foster a
Christian worldview based on Christian belief. This believe system shapes the soul`s desires,
hopes, passions, wants that will be reflected in one`s though process or intellect in “you are
what you love”. The book strongly suggests that humans are lovers before anything else. The
overview of world is based on how desires form the identities, which helps a person to realise
what a person love as love is ultimate goal with the sense of identifying the meaning of
world`s purpose. The national, consumer and all types of liturgics worships claims that

church grooms the inner core after calling all types of style whether secular or sacred. A
human sensation is formed by most basic desires and wants of the self as well as the world.
The wants and desires calls for allurement towards various products to spend a good life such
as display, purchase, and money. Smith recognises the temple as the place where the
allurement of good life can be achieved. The author continuously exclusively focuses on
Christianity and North American culture. The various principles identified in order to develop
the human behaviour regarding forming the worldview can be applied cross-culturally. The
belonging of an individual from a community does not define the perception or the
worldview. Instead of it, it depends on the culture, ideology, doctrine, values which an
individual follow. Each community has different set of belief system, but directly or
indirectly, the centre of all believe system says that same things about the living that one
should not harm the other livings by their deeds. Every learning leads to reprograming and
readopting the rituals that would form worldview of an individual (Tackett, 2018). The author
insists that adopting of Christian liturgies would help in reprogramming of ideas and personal
virtues. A person try to understand the sensibilities which depends on the accepting the
world`s change which is true, only if the worldview is really commendable. When a person
follows Jesus teachings, it is not at all about deciding the right believe system to guarantee a
proper behaviour. Proper behaviour is something that is beyond creating right believe system
and more extended to become a good human being who loves God and neighbour without
any allurement. By the time when a person regularly worship god and praises him, he is able
to develop a combination of intellect, virtues, and a proper ideology, which creates a
worldview. General modern culture has emphasized the knowledge of education rather than
giving importance to ancient Christian culture.

Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that with the help of the famous book “you
are what you love” written by J. K. A. Smith, the writer tries to establish a connection
between the spiritual transformations to human behaviour. An historical observation of an
person`s interaction is associated with the anthropological views of desires to overcome the
doctrine of human behaviour. By aligning closely the ultimate human nature to achieve goal
of life. In order to improve the emotions of achieving the ultimate goals of individual`s life,
one should have deep realisation of perpetual emotions and worship persuasions will be
fostered through emotions. Knowingly or unknowingly, these worship persuasions provide
the direction for both emotions as well as the reason. Sometimes reasons dominate the habit
of discovering, reforming, redirecting the unconscious love to direct and develop oneself. The
need is to identify and realise the importance a Christian and biblical reforms, which can help
to develop the a person`s worldview.
