Introduction and Background:
The University of Ballarat accomplished the research report on the basis of “Solar city
project” data. The data for analysis was collected from households and businesses across two
regions such as “Loddon Mallee” and “Grampians” to observe the transformations that arose
because of the consumption of energy. The “IBM Watson Analytic” tool is utilised to analyse the
dataset. The project focuses a number of variables that may impact the energy consumption in
various households of different suburbs of Australia. These variables are partitioned into sets of
features for understanding the measures of corresponding features. The visualizations as well as
data analysis of technology regarding solar energy distillate on three kinds of features that are-
 “Geographic characteristics”
 “Adoption of solar energy technologies”
 “Physical characteristics of the dwellings”
The physical characteristics comprises factors like number of stories, number of bedrooms,
age of dwelling, colour of roof, material used to construct the dwelling, size of the dwellings,
number of different types of lights, suburb of the dwellings and insulation of the housing.
The crucial objective of the research project is to comprehend the significant drivers of
the consumption of power. The cause of it is that significant percentage of electric energy formed
by conventional energy resources such as coal or petroleum produces substantial amount of
noxious gas like Carbon dioxide (CO2) (Miller, 2016). For fulfilling the objective, the analysis
highlights on two research questions.
