Create a journal entry for any five (5) of the assigned readings and five (5) videos screened in class or assigned. In all, you’re expected to do 11 entries, including a final, 500-word reflective essays on the course. Using one of the core concepts and recurring themes discussed at the beginning of the semester—the sociological imagination, the global sociological imagination, critique, debunking, obvious, etc., reflect on what you learned or unlearned in the course. What were your preconceived notions about any one specific issue, e.g. race and racism, and how the course helped you to shatter those preconceived notions? You must remember to define the chosen core concept. Finally, briefly state the effectiveness or otherwise of the Exploring Sociology Journal in enhancing your understanding of the course. Your journal will be used as a tool to help you understand the course material, group presentation and final exam.
