INTRODUCTION
Biochemistry, sometimes called biological chemistry, is the study of chemical processes
within and relating to living organisms. Biochemical processes give rise to the complexity of life.
Present report will focus on 77 year old male who has been seen in the local hospital with chest
pain, difficulty in breathing and a cough. The path physiology related to case study suggests that
pain in chest can be because of cardiac vascular problem other than the coronary or artery
disease. There are various reasons patients can suffer from cough, there are chances that service
user is been suffering from lung disease. It has been analysed that Chest pain in Mr. David is
severe as he is also suffering from difficulty in breathing. Medication like Nitroglycerin can be
given to patient if he is having pain in chest. This tablet is usually taken to widen blood vessels.
Present report will lay emphasis on the material and methods that are being used to obtain the
result. Report will provide summary of the key results. Assignment will also discuss the
strategies use to get the results.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The material that is being used in order to get the result of blood work up automated
analyser has been used. This instrument is basically being used to measure different
characteristics and other chemical in a biological sample. In this the results can be obtained
quickly without any assistance of the human. So it saves lots of time of individual who is been
engaged in finding out the result of blood work up. Various types of analysers have been
developed to provide support to clinical care staff. In the present case study, they can make use
of Haematology analysers that can assist health care professionals or nurses in counting the cells
of Mr. David (Mani, 2016).
It will help them in analysing complete blood count and white blood cell. Automated cell
counters sample the blood, and quantify, classify, and describe cell populations using both
electrical and optical techniques (Shan, Khan and Nazar, 2018). In this they can also make use
of electric analysis, it includes transferring of blood dilute solution with the help of an aperture
across which the electrical current is been flowing. Other type of material that can be used
includes Coagulometers. This equipment provides assistance to measure the ability of blood to
clot. It is been measured by performing several type of test such as Partial thromboplastin.

RESULTS
From the case study provided it has been analyzed that the range if Sodium of patient on
Day 1 is 141 while on day 2 it is 140. It means the sodium in blood flow work of service users is
normal as the reference range lies between 136-145 mmol It has been analyzed that the rate of
potassium on day 1 is been seen at 4.4 while on day 2 it has been 4.7. It is also normal as the
reference range of potassium is 3.6-5.0 mmol. It has also been analyzed that chloride range is
been 107 on Day 1 and also 106 of Day 2. This is also quiet normal as the reference range lies
between 101-111 mmol/L
DISCUSSION
From the report provided, it can be summarized that the anion gap in Mr. David is not
normal as the day 1 result is 5 and also on day 2 it is 5. The normal reference range lies between
10-20 mmol. It means the anion gap in Mr. David is low. It has been analyzed that because of the
low anion gap patient can face severe health disease such as kidney failure of diabetes. It can
also be the sign acidosis (Ashraf and et.al., 2019). It can also cause other problem in service
users like Dehydration. This can reduce the quality of life of service user. Mr. David can face
severe health related consequences because of the low anion gap that has been shown in the
blood flow chart. The low anion gap also provides the information that patient has low level of
albumin in body and they can also have less amount of protein. This can reduce the count of
white blood cells in body of patient. They can be vulnerable to more severe disease.
The rate of Urea on the Day 1 was 18.9 and while on the 2nd day it was 17.5. This is quiet
high as the normal reference range lies between 2.5-8.6 mmol. It has been analyzed that the level
of urea is too high and which is dangerous (Villéger, Cachon and Urdaci, 2017). This can
increase the concentration in patients forcing them to face severe disorder s like renal failure. It
can be mildly increased from severely increased depending on the severity of disease. In this Mr.
David can also face condition of renal failure which can only be cure transplantation of renal or
renal replacement therapy. It also means that service uses kidneys are not working well. This can
severely lay negative impact on physical abilities of patients making them weak. All these
aspects can reduce the quality of life of service users. In order to improve the health outcome of
service user, holistic and person centered care must be provided to them (Saeed and et.al., 2019).
This will assist health care professionals in improvising health outcome of service users.
Blood flow work of service user has also provided the details that Creatinine level of Mr. David

on the first day is 0.18 while on the other day is 0.16. It is quiet high as the normal reference
range lies between 0.04-0.12 mmol. It means service user is at high risk of renal failure. It also
indicates that service user can also face the problem of kidney failure. Mr. David is also at the
high risk of neuromuscular disorder or in future can face urinary tract infection. Health care
professionals need to engage in analyzing early signs and symptoms of these diseases so that
service user’s health outcome can be improved.
