INTRODUCTION
Food waste can be defined as a kind of biodegradable waste which is discharged from
various places such as food processing industries, households, hospitality sector and from many
other places. Food wastage can create various problems such as decrease in quality of
greenhouse gases, emission of methane can increase etc. Coffee waste is one of the major type of
food waste that can not only impact environment in negative manner but can also increase risk to
human and can further result in causing damage to DNA of human beings, create skin irritation
as well (Garcia-Garcia and et. al., 2017). It is extremely important to manage food waste
especially coffee waste as its harmful effect can affect human and environment both drastically.
there are various kinds of methods though which this coffee waste can be used as a recyclable
source such as for making candles, cleaning etc. There are many other methods as well that can
help in management of coffee waste This essay will lay emphasis upon management of coffee
waste and will further explain importance of Food waste management, importance of Coffee
waste management, and methods though which coffee waste can be managed will also be
explained in detailed manner.

Overview of management of food waste
Food waste is becoming one of the major problems today which is impacting overall
health of people as well as impact environment in a negative manner. In fact, according to a
research 19% of landfill space is occupied by food waste which makes it a large landfill garbage
area (da Costa and et. al., 2020). As a result, it becomes one of the main reasons of increasing
environment pollution, increasing diseases, degrading overall health of people (Filimonau and
Delysia, 2019). Due to this it becomes extremely important to manage food wastage so that
landfill garbage area can be reduced, emission of harmful or toxic gases can be reduced,
reduction of different kinds of diseases that can impact health and wellness of human beings (da
Costa and et. al., 2020). So it can be said that management of food waste is important to be
focused upon because it can result in loss of natural resources, create human health issue, can
pollute natural water resources, emit methane gas, reduce valuable energy recovery opportunity.
There are various kinds of ways though which food wastage management can be done such as:
