INTRODUCTION Black lives matter was the major protest which happened during the time of pandemic. It was a decentralised and was a political as well as social movement which was done in protest against the incidents of the brutality from the side of police (Williamson, Trump,& Einstein, (2018)). It created a racially motivated violence which happened against the Black people. A large number of people came out to the rallies across Australia. These protestors supported the indigenous people and the movement of black lives matter which started after the police killings happened in US. MAIN BODY The black lives movement is made from the wide range of people and the organisations. This movement is done to advocate against the police violence which is done towards the black people along with many other policy changes which are related to the liberation of black people. The movement started off with the hashtag of Black live matter on the social media. It was started after the criminal prosecution of the George Zimmerman was accused of shooting death of an African American teen individual named Trayvon Martin (Leopold, & Bell, (2017)). This movement soon become nationally recognised and came into the headlines again in the year 2020. In this George Floyd was murdered by the police officer. This protest started in US and become one of the biggest movements having many different views and arrays of demand which revolved around the criminal justice reform. This African American man was shot while jogging in the streets ofGeorgia. A video went viral which showed Floyd kneeling down and pleading for his life. A lot of people have protested around Australia in the aim to oppose the deaths of indigenous people present in the policy custody. These protesters followed the Black lives matter protests which took place around the world. Rallies started in Brisbane and Adelaide and then spread to the some regional centres. Large crowds have gathered in the city of Melbourne and Sydney after the court ruled in the favour of last ditch attempt to authorise the Sydney protests. These protests took place during the time of pandemic and the organisers of the protests were seen to have handing out masks and hand sanitisers in the hands of attendees. People were highly motivated in attending the protests that they did not care about being fined and jailed. Some of the protesters are the victims of being racially profiled (Dave, & et.al., (2020)). People think
black people as the individuals who are looking to steal something. Even the police stares at them the same way. Black lives is having a major impact on the individuals and communities with regards to the repressive history and the current environment. The major influence on this movement is questioning of everyday landscapes along with the role of official memory and removal of monuments and memorials. This movement is caused due to the lack of multiculturalism in people. One of the main issue for the black lives matter is the racial injustice. There are a lot of black people who are facing the racial issues and a lot of people are there to work with the black people and their communities to resolve these issues and support the black lives matter movement (Maultsby, (2018))People are not capable if discussing the racial issues in more civil manner as it contributes to the minority having the inequality and facing the conflicts. This failure has created many discussion regarding the race which led the people coming from different groups to live a parallel lives while being in the same city. This racial injustice has created very decreased life chances for the non white people in different parts of the world. The main aim of black lives matter movement is to eradicate this issue and recognise the reasons and the concepts of multiculturalism which has failed the black people. Multiculturalism is about the giving equal importance to all the cultures present in the society. This concept eliminates the idea of culture being a melting point and supports the coexistence of different cultures without any domination. In the modern terms, race issue are become less important in the concept of multiculturalism and inclined more towards providing equality for everyone. Thus, multiculturalism has failed to attain the transformation for the black people in more particular sense. From the historical context, it can be seen that black people have found themselves to be at the bottom part of the pile. Racism is there in all groups of people, however, it has affected the lives of black people in major extent. Black children are more likely to fail in the school and are also the majority in facing the discrimination when looking to rent a place. Even in this modern world where people tend to have an open mind and accepting people from different cultures openly, black people still have access to poor social amenities and face high level of discrimination in the job market such as being paid less when compared to non blackpeople(Kilgo,Mourao&Sylvie,(2019)).Thepolicefromthecountryhavethe stereotypical mindset about the black people and are killed by the police or are sent to jail.

Racism is so systemic that without drawing any attention towards it, it will become very easy for the people to ignore it. The focus of Black lives matter is to confront and shake the system while spreading the information about the injustice and issues faced by the black people to be a global consciousness. Individuals who are to be prejudiced against the black lives matter movement are the ones having conservative views. To bring change for the black people community, it is important that every individual is able to recognise the positive parts of being in an integrated society. The main driver of this movement was the anger against the police treatment towards the black people while having a complete understanding about the relation between violence done by the police force and the racial inequality which is produced by it. The case of George Floyd have have opened the pages for racism and inequality which have been existing in the society from past many years. The movement focused on the police entities along the violence which was called out from many specific police departments. The focus was on the police and some individuals having a feel of distrust for the black people and punishing them with brutal treatment which did not deserve (Leach & Allen, (2017)). The police brutality was the major concern of the black lives matter movement as there were many police shooting and over policing at the protests. The message about racism and inequality from the protests have shifted the thinking about the racism being present in the larger cultural context. The intense political division during the time of pandemic has resulted in mass protests. From all around the globe, individuals came forward to support the protest and express their collective outrage for George Floyd murder along with many other victims from the police violence. the protest reached such levels as because the movement raise awareness and cultivated many allies. With high level of inspiration and help of many allied groups and new supporters, this movement had an easy mobilisation to be build on the early activism. Justice have played the central role in rise of this protest. When the protest took place in the Melbourne, people were charged with fines and police was motivated to investigate further to identify any enforcement activities. Police was more concerned about the large gatherings happening during the time when social distancing was a crucial step to follow. Police was ready to take actions for the conduct of any unlawful gatherings. They warned the public about having to be fined where the Covid protocols are not followed and gathering include a large number of people. People fought to attain a better world and provide justice to all the people who have been oppressed, exploited and brutalised by the system itself. the crowd in Australia for the protest was very well behaved in
some place and even followed the Covid restriction such as wearing masks and gloves and followed the social distancing. people created a peaceful rally and stood against the black deaths in the custody. CONCLUSION It can be concluded that protest of Black lives matter is about the racial injustice which is living in the society till now. An African American male was killed as police shot him by racially judging the individual. In the videos being circulated on digital platforms showed George Floyd plead for his life while he was kneeled down by the police officer. The cultural competency related to this context is about the way black people are treated and judged in the stereotypical ways set from the historical context. The protest aimed to spread the issues which black people has to face in terms of racism and inequality. In the absence of Black lives matter, the promise of have a true multiculturalism will continue to remain a dream which is not possible to be real.
