Pros and Cons of Blended Learning and Traditional Classroom Learning

This report evaluates the pros and cons of blended learning and traditional classroom learning, and provides recommendations for the Institute of Inner City Learning of UWTSD. It discusses the benefits of blended learning, such as flexibility and better preparation and feedback, as well as its drawbacks, such as the need for basic technology and a temporary increase in workload. It also examines the advantages of traditional classroom learning, such as active learning and maintaining interpersonal relationships, as well as its disadvantages, such as limited time and less flexibility. The report concludes with recommendations for the Institute of Inner City Learning of UWTSD to implement blended learning to enhance their students' learning experience.

INTRODUCTION
Academic writing is acquisition of skills that maintain the university curriculum, and it
affects the students life and impact of their values and increase in their individuality. Academic
learning main concern with the development of students that require attention and technical
skills. This report includes the information about how institute of inner city learning to adopt the
blended learning and their pros and cons of blended learning and traditional classroom learning
and forms of technique uses in that.
MAIN BODY
Pros and cons of Blended learning
Blended learning are the model that apply for encouraging the hybrid learning in the university.
That create opportunity for those students who are unable to come to the university and want to
study from that particular university or institute that's why this approach will work in face to face
leaning that's a distance learning.
Pros of blended learning
Suited for large group:- blended learning help institute to reach out more people who wish to
learn in a shorter time. This method does not require a person who train present all the time.
With the help of Blended learning trainer teach the student in many numbers whatever they want
on online.
Better preparation and feedback:- blended learning make traditional learning more valuable.
Students can learn from the distance learning and can come classroom if they want can complete
the assignment individually and independently and those who choose distance learning can have
same knowledge as compare to those who learn in traditional classroom. With this method
institute also get benefit because of online classes trainer does not need to be available all the
time for learners (Hockly, N., 2018). Leaner can contact them when they need some help in their
projects or assignments.
Better for non technology fans:- many people in the academic field does not like the
technology even after they know the benefits of it. Some students and trainer also doesn't like
this but after using this method their perception is totally changes, and they used to get that.

Students and teachers set their own pace :- many people , student faces this problem to learn
with other people and some trainer also hesitate during training or teaching in front of students
that why this is the best method for these type of pe3ople who set their own pace and this method
give everyone a different learning style to adopt and grasp the difficulties they face during
learning or teaching with others. This method also reduces in cost and does not require a premise
for the training centres or large place for students and this help in the crisis also like, COVID-19.
Cons of blended learning
Temporary increase in the workload i.e., Transition phase:- in the early stage of setting up this
method university, institute might face some issue to set up this method and institute have to
look after it face to face online classes training. This method take a little while for understanding.
Lack of motivation:- this depends on how institute set up the blended learning in their institute
for students and also for trainer. It might be possible that it decreases the interest of the learning
if trainer is not well perform during their lecture or training. Institute have to look after it which
approach is most useful for their institute (Mayer, 2020).
Basic technology:- for adopting this approach institute and the participants in this must have a
basic knowledge of the technology to take lessons and learn from them. Students will not be
able to learn from this if they don't know how to use it. Institute must train their students if they
want to adopt his method in their institute.
Credibility problem:- plagiarism is the most popular use in the e learning. If students keep copy
paste from the google or any other sources than it will become the problem for the people. It
might difficult to the learning to not see a other site and use of it like, social media application.
this is the main disadvantage of the blended learning method (Neroni,and et.al, 2019).
Advantage of the traditional classroom
Traditional classroom define as where the teacher or professor provide the information
and knowledge to the students. Traditional classroom are those in which teacher teaches the
student face to face as both are available in the class. The main advantage of this as it gives the
proper evaluation of the knowledge as for the teacher the student is available, so they will ask if
they are facing any problem in course (Akçayır and Akçayır, 2018). By this student will be able
to increase their social skills by communicating with their teachers and colleagues. This process
also make the student to follow the discipline so it will be good for their career.

Active learning:
Traditional classroom provide the active learning as student will interact with the teachers, and
they ask about the topic if they have doubt related to the course in their mind. Therefore, the
institute of inner city learning of UWTSD must provide a better traditional classroom so that if
their student face any problem they can ask their teacher so that it will be beneficial for them to
score good in exams also it is beneficial for their university.
To maintain the intrapersonal relationship:
It is important for the social development of the student during traditional classroom they will be
able to interact with their other colleagues which will make them able to develop good skills. As
communicating in group can improve the communication skills also develops the confidence in
the student therefore traditional classroom is essential for the university (Goethe and
Colina,2018.). Also, by group study student will share their knowledge and proceed to develop
understanding about the topic so it will increase their focus in study to get good marks in subject.
Disadvantages of the traditional classroom
Along with many advantages traditional classroom has some disadvantages too as the teacher
need to evaluate the topic in a fixed time so it will be difficult for them to provide whole
information in one go, also every student are not equal as some might catch the knowledge fast
but for some they face difficulty in understanding the topic. The main drawback of traditional
classroom as it is not time flexible and also it is not beneficial for the student who prefer less
interaction. As some student might discuss their problem with their teacher but some introverted
student do not interact with their teacher which will lead them less understanding in the topic
which also impact their score in the exam. Therefore, for the university they must have to
provide the extra activities so that the introvert student will communicate with their teacher
otherwise it will affect their annual graph in exam (Chigona, 2018).
Evaluation of blended teaching and traditional learning methods
Both learning methods have their different aspect as blended learning is associated with
the implementation of the digital technologies which offers more flexibility to the student it also
improves their educational experience. Traditional classroom also provide the better
understanding over the topic therefore it was the most suitable process which were preferred by
the institution.

Effective learning:
Blended teaching method provide the effective learning modes and materials which will
be enough for the student to achieve their educational goals as in online platform student will
able to focus on their pronunciation while self practising or learning also blended learning can be
challenging as it involves the technology. On the other hand traditional learning also provide
better understanding over the topic as there is a face to face interaction between the teacher and
student but this type of learning is not suitable when the student is introvert. For an example
student with blended learning can have less educational experience than the student who are
evolving with traditional classroom.
Motivation:
As for the blended learning student will take or learn the courses by online platform but
this method is sometime more hectic as there is less interaction with the teacher and student so
student might feel demotivate sometime. But for the traditional classroom because of the face to
face interaction if student feels demotivation then the teacher present there and help the student
to overcome also they will be able to provide the alternative to understand the topic.
Flexibility:
Advanced technology will provide better flexibility to the student as they have the control
over the learning process, they also feel connected towards the learning procedure. Therefore,
blended technology will provide the student to explore their knowledge and to access the
information around the world. But for the traditional learning students are limited to their
classroom as it is the only source for them to develop understanding about the topic or other
source is their tutor only (Jimenez-Olmedo and et.al 2017).But also in traditional teaching
student can resolve their issue at a time they do not need to wait for asking the tutor if they have
doubt in any topic they will ask their tutor at a time so that their will be no confusion regarding
the topic.
As in the blended learning it is beneficial for the students who are introvert as they are
free to ask any queries directly to their teacher. As in traditional classroom some student does not
speak or ask for the doubts because they might feel that other students will make fun of them.
Therefore, blended learning is efficient as in this student does not have fear about others, and
they feel more secure to ask their tutor if they face any problem. For an example in traditional
classroom time is limited so student does not able to clear their doubts within a lecture hour, or

they do not ask the queries as they think other will make fun of them, but blended technology is
better as it gives the more flexibility to the student so that they will ask their queries and clear the
doubt, so they will be able to score high in exam (.Amarin, 2020).
Recommendations
As for the institute of inner city learning of UWTSD blended learning is more effective and
flexible to implement in their university. Blended learning to have more benefits over the
traditional classroom learning, as traditional classroom learning is limited tutor have the given
time to complete their lecture and to deliver the overall topic review in short time. As to
switching with the computers and technology can enhance the knowledge of the student.
Better approach of learning:
University will proceed to implement this learning procedure as it is helpful for their introvert
student who does not ask for the queries because of their conscious nature. Blended learning can
be beneficial as from this student will gain or develop the knowledge by attending the online
courses also they have the better access so that they can gain the knowledge from across the
world.
For that purpose university need to utilize the technology well or to provide the better
connectivity to their students so that they will be able to present in the online lecture. University
will also proceed to introduce the new online courses to their students as in blended learning
there is no time limitation so that student will indulge into the learning process and develop their
knowledge (Kardipah and Wibawa, 2020). This will be helpful for their university as student
learns more and which will make them able to achieve good marks which is important for their
university. With this student will develop social skills also from the different learning course
they can evaluate their knowledge which will be helpful for them to decide their career.
Therefore, institute of inner city learning of UWTSD must implement the Blended learning so
that there student will be able to develop good knowledge and can perform better in their
academics.

CONCLUSION
Increase in the learning achievement of the students and engaging them with the new
techniques of learning to improve their ability and learning outcomes. There are variety of
learning and development of students that uses in the academic learning for students. Report
includes the information about the learning outcome which university can apply to their system
for train their student better way.
