INTRODUCTION
Organizational culture is a composition of values, expectations and practices that helps to
lead and inform the actions of all team members. In other words, it is the composition of
personality traits which defines an organization and their working scenario. Organizational
culture is very important as it depicts the positive and negative working scenario in an
organization. The impact of organizational culture on the performance of employees and overall
organization is very crucial as which can be seen through employee participation and deviation
in their performance. Organizational culture plays a crucial role in creating an influence on
employee performance and their level of motivation (Anitha, 2016). Unilever is a British
multinational company which manufactures consumer goods, food products, home care range,
personal care and refreshment products and offer their products and services all around the
globe. This project report is based on determining the impact of organizational culture on
performance of employees and of overall organization. The project will provide a brief layout of
impact of organizational performance on employees of Unilever.
Aim
To determine the impact of organizational culture on performance.
Objectives
To determine the positive impact of organizational culture on performance.
To determine the negative impact of organizational culture on performance.
To analyze the importance of maintaining healthy organizational culture.
To identify different organizational cultures.
How objectives will be achieved
Organizational culture is the major element which helps an organization to retain their
talented employees and maintain their position in the industry. Some of the strategies through
which the desired objective will be accomplished by Unilever, are:
Through setting a desired standard of performance (Aziz and Morita, 2016).
Through identifying the deviation and performance gap between actual and standard
performance.
Through regularly monitoring performance of employees and providing them valuable
feedbacks through which they can enhance their performance and productivity.
Through providing clarity to employees for their job role and shared goal which needs to
be accomplished.

Through analyzing the willingness and participation of employees in managerial
activities will help in identifying the positive impact of organizational culture on
performance.
Through identifying employee turnover and absenteeism reasons which will help in
identifying the responsible factors of negative impact of organization culture on
employee performance (Benjamin, 2015).
Through identifying the motivating factors of employees which can create positivity in
the organization and thus will improve performance.
To determine the importance of healthy organizational culture which can influence
participation of employees and improve performance of employees and overall
organization.
By encouraging employees and motivating them to contribute in the achievement of
organizational goals.
By recognizing and rewarding employees for their performance through which they can
motivate them and enhance their performance.
Through encouraging all employees to share their valuable ideas and opinions through
which they can help in forming effective decisions.
Through maintaining a two-way communication and interaction will help to build better
understanding and trust through which positive organizational culture can be maintained.
By analyzing the type of organizational culture and maintaining positive working
scenario in the organization (Cropley and Cropley, 2017).
