INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are the concept of behaviors of the study habits, management of the time
and the strategies for the learning tools helps to learn effectively. Personal development plan is a
planning process of creating the action plan that is based o the goal settings, value etc for the
personal development to effectively achieve the career goals (Definition of 'academic', 2021). In
this report discussed about the personal and the professional development, short, medium and the
long term goals and the personal development plan.
MAIN BODY
Concept of the personal and the professional development.
Personal development is a process for the lifelong. It is an activity that consists for the
development of the person’s skills, abilities and qualities to achieve the aims and the goals and
helps to build the potential. Personal development helps to be proactive and changes according to
the actions. It helps to contribute for the success and the satisfaction in the life. Personal
development can be improved by improving the self improvement in the skills. It helps to give
the clarity of to the personal vision, existing skills can be sharpens, helps to identify the hidden
talent in individual, helps to motivate and satisfaction in individuals ability, helps to build client
and the employee confidence (Carbonie, Guo, and Cahalane, 2018). To manage the personal
development personal vision is set, panning is done for the personal development, different ways
are set to develop the existing skills and learn new skills, then keep the record of the personal
development so that the it helps to identify the areas to be improve and last process is to review
and revising the personal development plan so that the goals and the vision are to be achieved.
Personal development helps to improve the overall development of the individual by develops
the talents, facilitate the employability, improves the quality of the life.
Professional development is an ability to improve the knowledge, skills, capabilities and
the qualities from the training, formal education, advanced learning that is professional to help
the teachers, administrators and other administrative. It is an effective tool that helps to identify
the situation. Professional development includes various approaches for the development like
consultation, coaching, communities of the practice, reflective supervision, mentoring, lesson
study and technical assistance. For the educators the professional development has a wide range
of the topic to develop and formats according to solely funded by the employee individually. The
duration of the programs of the professional development can range between minimum to an

hour of the day to period of the one year or may me more. This is depend on the content to be
delivered and the certification that is to be awarded (Duboust, and Knight, 2018). This program
can be delivered online or face to face. Professional development helps to develop the skills that
are technological, analytical and the quantitative that helps to measure the student performance
and helps to modified the strategies for the programs of the academic and the techniques of the
teaching. Professional development helps to gain the gap between the academic and the
professional knowledge that skills required for the successful employees.
Value of the short term goals with some personal examples.
Short term goals are set to achieve the goals of the near future. The near future means can
be achieve today, in a week, month or within a year. This goal is something that can be
accomplish soon. Short terms goals are to be small but can be help to complete the long term
goals by achieving in small goals (Shibankova, and et.al., 2019). It helps to set the focus and
identify the next steps to be taken and check the progress in the right directions.
Short term creates the value in achieving the goals and set the career by minimize
procrastination. It helps to understand the path of the success by focusing on the one thing at a
time. This focus helps to build the productivity motivating and achieving the lone term goals
effectively. It is the foundation of achieving something greater. It also have many importance
includes it helps to create the effective strategies, keep focus on the goals to achieved, monitor
the routine work so that if the wrong or the different activity is done against to achieve in the
long term is to evaluate, helps to build up the productivity so that effective and the efficient work
is to done, the time management is understand by completing the task I the specific period of the
time, improving the knowledge, experience and skills that are used in achieving the short term
goals and helps to improve in the corporate culture by improve the competence among the
colleagues, build the confidence in individual by achieving the goals and from them get
motivated to perform with same enthusiasm to achieve the long term goals and build the
effective career and it also helps to overcoming from the barriers that are came in achieving the
long success and in career by achieving the short term goals (Misra, 2018).
Short term goals are important to achieve with the target and for the effective career goals
some of the short terms goals set by me is to improve my written skills and English by joining
the professional course for the 2 months, complete my post graduation degree in the span of the 2
