Introduction
Personal development is a self assessment plan which is defined with a set of
activities carried on for a better future vision of an individual. Personal targets and a clear
destination to reach that goal makes it suitable for any person to build up an effective and
detailed plan of how to bring a boost in self personal (Little, Salmela-Aro and Phillips, 2017).
Developing ones personality traits by engaging in learning of new skills and knowledge as
per organization perspective can be defined as professional development of working
individuals at firm. The following assessment therefore covers various aspects of personal
and professional development categorized broadly into short term, medium and long term
goals of an individual. Also there are some examples demonstrating how one can enhance
their personal skills while professionally working at an organization adding on to the
company's worth as well.
1. Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
Personal and professional development plan is refers to the process by which an
individual or a company engage themselves in the process of learning and enhancing the
skills and knowledge of the individual. Which are helpful in meeting the goals and at the
same time provide the solutions to overcome the challenges in the work culture of the any
organization. Personal development is the plan which work in the whole life and take long
time. This type of plan are not bounded with itself, it is work for the formal and informal
organization structure. Personal development plan help the individual to develop their
personal skills and knowledge (Fforde, 2019). Whereas the professional development is the
plan which is done by the organization as the variety of the training and development which
are provided by the organization. It is the type of learning which earn the behavior of the
professional area. In the professional development, the tool, resources and training are the
essential tools which increase the effectiveness and quality of the individual. All these
professional and personal development plan are used to enhance the skills and knowledge
related to qualitative, technical and analytical skills. of the individual which help them to
work in any type of organization.

the employees to work in the routine and strategies to overcome with the difficult situation
within the organization. These objective are achieved in between 3 to 6 months. In addition to
that, the achievement of the long term and medium term goals are become easier for the

goals, there values are so important as they are made after done the studies, secured a job and
starting a career in the professional life (Smith, 2016). To set the medium term goals, it is
considered that it must not be so short or so long to achieve. It is suggested that to keep
thousand-day rule so that the failure of the individual or for the company doesn't feel
demotivated while completing the goals. It is useful for the companies to check the progress
report with the previous efforts so that the idea are beneficial for the work culture and can
easily identified.

contacts which are known by an individual in respect of contacts and money. Developing an
ever increasing circle which help in increasing the contacts for the person. Another one is
personal improvement; it is used by developing the good work habits and having a positive
mental attitude (Yu and et.al., 2016). Set the priorities on the list and use the effects of that
list in the life of the employee. Fifth point is personal empowerment; which means making an
positive image and a creative mind for the development of their own sake. In last personal
analysis and objectives are used to conscious of areas and define the goals which are needed
to be work in the developing short, medium and long term goals.
