Content summary
The book namely Jesus and the Gospels has been written almost a century after the death of
Jesus Christ. The book starts with a brief summary of the life history of Christ. Here Jesus Christ
has been described as the son of God- the man who is more powerful that himself. According to
the book, wilderness is one of the major characteristic features of Jesus, which had supported
him to win in the battle with Satan. This book also said that, the holy spirit of God had also
recognized Jesus as his beloved son. The four Gospels namely- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
are the most significant aspects of New Testament. Such Gospels had remained the greatest
source of information in the life of Jesus Christ.
Evaluation
The main theme of Jesus and the Gospels is resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, who is
being considered as the son of God. The fundamental intention of Craig L. Blomberg in the book
The Historical Reliability of the Gospels was to make in-depth discussion of Jesus and the
Gospels critically. Blomberg had highlighted multiple facts, which can arise questions regarding
the reliability of the Gospels. Usage of striking words is one of the greatest strengths of the

author. It had paved the way for readers to understand the main subject matter of the book
clearly.
Comprehensive arguments regarding the reliability of Gospels had been presented by Blomberg.
After summarizing the book, it is quite evident that the author has executed in-depth research
before analyzing the book critically. Blomberg has raised question about the time of Jesus Christ
and the Gospels. Appropriate usage of multiple reliable information about the reliability of
Gospels is also a major strength of the author, which had accelerated the rate of readability of the
text. The text is well structured, which has ensured its consistency.
However, lack of appropriate sentence construction is the greatest weakness of the book critic of
Jesus and the Gospels. There are multiple sentences in the text, which do not even make any
sense. Such error in the sentence construction is lacking the comprehensiveness of the text. Still,
it should be mentioned in this context that, in the text, the author has highlighted multiple valid
arguments, which had supported in raising question about the reliability of the text. With the
assistance of multiple valid arguments, the author has questions about time period of Jesus Christ
and four of the Gospels.
Integration
The book was highly important as it has supported in getting in-depth knowledge regarding the
life story of Jesus Christ along with the four gospels namely Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Still Blomberg had raised multiple questions as well as arguments regarding the trustworthiness
of these four gospels. It is true that Blomberg had acknowledged the historical context of these
four gospels. However, he has made confusing interpretation regarding the validity of four
different gospels. In the critical analysis, Blomberg has presented multiple historical objections,
