REVIEW OF THE BOOK
Book is made up of 10 chapters designed to encourage people to
employ design thinking in all the tiers of life and in running the
business (Brown, 2018).
The book, in several cases, demonstrated how design thinking help
people to handle and solve challenges with a drive to establish
lasting solutions
The author also proposes some ways in which entrepreneurs and
even students can come up with viable ideas by evaluating things
and products from the outlook of a humanistic lens (Brown, 2018).

REVIEW OF THE BOOK
From the book, it is apparent that design thinking ignites creativity
and innovative ventures which aid in minimizing financial,
operational, and social issues within organizations
The author also demonstrated that design thinking is an
exploratory process and that entrepreneurs and students should
explore their environment for gaps.
It is also demonstrated that innovation through design thinking
must focus on human experience rather than function

HOW IT BUILDS ON THE CONTENT OF
THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE AND
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The book attempted to show that in order for design thinking effort
to succeed, there must be some changes in organizational culture
and leadership.
First, design thinking is possible when there is collaboration. This
means that hierarchical organizational structures are not
appropriate for design thinking (In Brenner & In Uebernickel, 2016).
The book also demonstrated that design thinking should involve
team work. This requires supportive and transformative leadership

HOW IT BUILDS ON THE CONTENT OF
THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE AND
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Book encourages cooperation of different departments. This means
that the marketing, accounting, and various human resources
should be united through organizational change
The book encourages people to ask why and not what. Ability to
ask means that the communication within organization should be
open (Australia, 2015).
The book also challenges people to think widely.

HOW IT BUILDS ON THE CONTENT OF
THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE AND
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Tim Brown expects entrepreneurs to work extra hard because
genius is 1% inspiration and 99% sweat
Design thinking has changed and that people should not use the
mentality that was used several decades ago (Brown, 2018).
Cornerstone of design thinking entails building of models,
storyboarding, rapid prototypes, and acting out skits which express
the exchange of opinions.

CONCEPTS FROM THE BOOK
Firstly, the book gives me an idea on how I can invent new thing.
The book expects me to look the ordinary and apply humanistic
lens
Secondly, the book expects me to work with like-minded people.
The book emphasizes the significance of collaboration.
Consequently, I should always have a team if I am to invent
something new.

HOW I WILL APPLY THE
CONCEPTS FROM THE BOOK
My design thinking should focus on people. The book challenges
me to predict what people would like to have in future
I should focus on what people want, what they like or dislike in
specific products and their packaging, in advertising, sales and
support services
The book encourages me not to expect instant results. This means
that I should not lose hope when the first trial fails.

HOW I WILL APPLY THE
CONCEPTS FROM THE BOOK
The book expects design thinker to understand environment well.
This means that I should have inspiration by analyzing the
environment.
I should then create an idea.
Lastly, I should then implement the idea.
