audience of the event(Park & Park, 2017).
Being a low budgeted event, the theme is primarily based
on the colour Pink.

Location, Time and Date of the
Event
The location for the Event is St. Joseph Catholic School,
located at Murray Bridge.
The running track of the school will be the running field
for the participant.
The school is a ideal place as it is not charging any

volunteers will be provided by the school Authority.
The marathon will start at 6 in the morning and is
scheduled on 1 July 2018. 6

Operational Consideration for
the Event

hand, as plethora of resources have to be pooled
together before the event(Vontas, 2018).

of the event are:
Vendor
Human Resources
Volunteers
Financial Resources

ecosystem, in simplest words it means anyone who
provides goods and services to the company(Liu, Sparks &

Human
Resources
The Human resource for Event planning and management
is not just restricted to the departments, but it is a
measure of company success(Aviso et. al., 2018).
It is extremely important to comply with the labour laws in
order to take care of the human
resources(Wehrmeyer,2017).
As mentioned in the earlier slide, paid human resources
are to be used in addition to the volunteers.
The paid human resource will serve as trainers for the
volunteers.

financial resources and allocation for the Event.
It has to be ensured that the Event authority not exceeds

Risk Assessment
Risk assessment can be understood as a tool for
evaluation of the possible risk associated with the event.
The risk assessment team has to ensure that they create
preventive strategies to assess the risk before
hand(Chang, 2018).
The process for Risk Assessment can be mentioned as:
Risk Assessment
Risk Evaluation
Risk Mitigation
Potential risk associate with the event are: Less

Contingency Blueprint
No one can predict the outcome of the Event with utmost certainty,
thus it becomes important to plan for a contingent event in such a
case(Sovacool, 2017). Some of the factors of contingency in case of
the Marathon are:
17
Event Activity Contingency Plan
Bad weather, rainfall or any other
natural calamity
Push the Event to next week, get it
printed in the collaterals.
Less number of refreshment Keep an additional buffer of 15%
Lesser count of the runners as
expected
Keep the distance short in this
case.
Volunteers not turning up 15% buffer of volunteers, increase
the count from 40 to 60 volunteers
in the planning stage
