INTRODUCTION
The treaty of European Union has regulated the process of withdrawal of member state of
the country. Brexit is an abbreviation of two different words Britain and exit which implies its
meaning in relation to the process of withdrawal of United Kingdom (UK) from European Union
(EU). The country of United Kingdom was separated from the European Union enabling it to
make its own laws and be free from the imposition of European Union. In simpler words, it
means that United Kingdom has exited its way from the European Union in order to have its own
way in making of laws and rules, for independence of the country(Bongardt 2020). Due to the
separation or withdrawal of the country of UK from EU, there was a transition period until the
end of 2020, where there was negotiations on additional arrangements among them. The
applicability of rules of business, trade and travel will continue to be the same during the
transition period. This report will cover the condition of the country of UK after the Brexit
period, from withdrawal of the country from EU and the sovereignty with independence of the
country which is determined by separation from EU.

Impact of Brexit
The separation of United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) has enabled the
country to be free from the dominance of the union,for freedom and independence of its own
laws in the country. This has led to an era of a period of transition which is Brexit Transition
period. This period has majorly impacted the country with legal limitations on it at the same time
(Carmichael 2020). There will also be removal of a strong external source of EU from UK,
limiting the enforcement of Parliament dominance. There was major impact on the currency of
UK which witnessed its downfall in that period. This downfall in the currency led to uncertainty

among the investors considering the future of country after the Brexit period. The decrease in
exports with fluctuation in the currency created a doubt in the mind of investors. This period saw
its major impact on the Auto mobile industry where it faced downfall due to fluctuation in the
tariff system. The period of Brexit was a major reason in the decrease of economy of the country.
There was import of car components from Europe and out of which majority of manufactured
cars were again sent back to Europe. This has led to loss in the business of auto mobile due to
imposed of tariff on imported vehicles.
The delay in acquiring the car components due to border boundary issues and other requirements
leads to fluctuation in dealing in the business of auto mobile. This decrease and loss in the
business has led to companies like Honda to close its plant in Britain. Other companies like
Nissan has made its new model of car in Japan instead of Britain. The regulatory laws of UK has
even affected the financial sector of Heavy industries in a major way(Limb 2020). This
separation of UK from EU has affected the banks of the country in accessing the European
market.
Merits of Brexit
 The period of Brexit has led the country of UK to have its independence in order to have
their own implementation of laws with its rules and regulations for the benefit of its
people considering their democratic stability.
 The democratic control has been restored over the law making body. Earlier when UK
was part of EU, there was hold of the supreme body of EU to direct and impose the laws
on UK, but now the after the transition of Brexit period, UK is free from the dominance
of EU.
 The judicial system of the country has also gained its independence in executing its
judicial powers where the judge presiding in the court can independently direct its
decisions sitting in the supreme court of UK.
 The border security has been improved by examination and filtration of fraudulent ID
cards at the line of border which has led to free travelling of the EU citizens without any
requirement of their ID's.

 The economy of UK has strengthen with its new tariff system by reducing the business
cost and burdens of administration and also be eliminating unnecessary tariff impositions
on different range of goods and items.
 There is also a requirement for the migrants of EU to pay money if they are interested in
settling in UK and making it their home, which will in turn give stability to the migrants
from being migrants to complete residents of a country.
 The country of UK has a very powerful passport with the reintroduction of iconic blue
passports by having the most digitally advanced British passports with carbon footprints
with zero rate of manufacturing.
Demerits of Brexit
 The transition of Brexit period will affect the employment area by eliminating the
protections in terms of equal pay, maternity leave and safe workplaces. There has been
major investment by EU in establishing rules of equal benefits to women and minority
populations. The separation of UK from EU will therefore result in not having same
amount of protections against discriminations in the international court of justice.
 The separation will also lead to reduction in revenue of tax due to the shifting of head
quarters of banks to their own membership block, but the Euro currency will continue to
be the most valuable currency in business of trading (Lock 201). The economy of the
country will be most affected if other countries like United States will stop its business
dealing with it.
 There would be more availability in jobs during the period of immigration, which
otherwise would have create a shortage of skilled labour by affecting the economic
growth of country.
 The single market of EU could bear the price by enabling the laws and regulations which
are subject to EU to have access towards the economy of the country. This separation
could have influenced the government in having no hold of power and to continue to
follow the requirements of bureaucrats.
 The food, health and animal right might be affected through the standards of safety. The
information about the harmful additives which are added to the food products all around

the globe and what is not meant to be consumed or eaten is to be given by the country of
Britain which originates from the European union (Oxford Analytica 2020).
 The border issues created by Brexit has led the citizens of Britain, who are residing in the
member states of EU to shift back to their home or are also required to apply for a work
visa or seek citizenship.
Case related to Brexit
R (Miller) vs. Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union
In this case, an appeal was instituted in the higher court stating that “There was no power
to be held by Secretary of State under the Crown' prerogative for the issuing of notice in relation
to Article 50 of the treaty on the EU for the withdrawal of UK from it”. The decision was in the
favour of applicants which was heard by a majority of 8-3, due to the establishment of amount of
quality by the European Communities Act in making of laws and interpretation of institutions in
the form of new sources of law (McCay 2020). This decision was held by the rulings of the High
Court, which was authorised by the parliament in consideration of Article 50.
Article 50 provides a conjuration method in which there can be notification by a member to
European Council about the negotiation period of two years, after which there is applicability of
treaties to the member, in-spite of a leaving agreement that is agreed by qualified majority of
voting.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that, the separation of UK from EU has led in
having more independence with its own enforcement of laws, without any limitations. The
country of UK is free to make its own rules and regulations without any dominance of EU. The
transition of Brexit period has led UK to give up on the single hold of economic market, which
in turn has resulted into loss of tax revenue. The exit has widely proven to be beneficial for UK
enabling it to have its own democratic independence without any dominance of EU. This
separation has overall been a victory for the citizens of UK. The rule of allowing and enabling a
member of another nation to reside and settle in UK, without any restrictions in accordance of
the EU law has created problems in fulfilling the basic needs of the people. The strict imposition
of Brexit in order to allow and enforce full control over the territories of UK, will further lead it
to be a more independent country.
