INTRODUCTION
Background of the research:
Brexit refer as the Britain's exit from the European union. Before Brexit both Britain and
Europe were partnered in trade, but now both the nation have to face the tariffs and taxes for
crossing the border (Casadei and Iammarino, 2021). Its major impact seen on the supply chain
process, before these businesses can easily transport their goods and services without facing any
border custom, UK also faced the labour shortage, high energy prices problem. But after a
several attempts both EU and UK are ready to not impose the tariff over the import or export
between this two entities, it only concerns with the foods those are coming from the EU or from
UK.
Tesco a British multinational supermarket chain, they have the diversification in their
products and services. Company is facing problem in their supply chain due to the Brexit effect,
their services are highly disrupted due to this. This report will address the Brexit issue over the
supply chain of businesses, it involves the research objectives, questions, LR and RM to develop
the deep understanding.
Research Aim: To investigate the impact of Brexit on supply chain operation: A case study on
Tesco.

To understand the concept of Brexit regarding retail industry.
To analyse the impact of Brexit over the supply chain of organization.
To assess the strategies for reducing the Brexit impact over the organizational functionality.
To recommend the approaches to enhance the company's performance.

What are suitable recommendations that can be made to improve the company's performance?
Rationale:
Reason behind selecting this topic is to bring the concern about this issue which are
businesses facing. Information regarding the Brexit will enable the organization to develop or
prepare their company's resources in order to deal with it. Information regarding this will help
the businesses to streamline their resources or to fulfil their vacant job places that are left by the
EU workers (Billarant, 2019). This topic has the good opportunity which allows the new
businesses to plan accordingly in order to prevent from negative impact of the Brexit.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme 1: Concept of Brexit regarding retail industry
As per the view of van den Berg and et.al., (2018) Brexit influence performance of retail
industry because of delay in supply of goods and services and face issues from product
transportation. Europe and British country mainly consider providing and transporting their good
and services with same process and combine methods. But when Brexit enter it directly
influences various factors like unemployment, difficulties in transportation, influence stability of
economic condition of UK and many more. Because when it comes Europe and British company
both not perform their tasks and supply or transportation activity together. Variation in
government laws and polices badly affects on performance of supply chain activity. So retail
industry has responsibility to provide services to customer within in time with effective manner.
Qi, B., Costin and Jia, (2020) establish that retail industry supply chain process and
transportation not only influence and affects from the dispute in two country. Thus, its also
influence from soon decision-making soon. Information and calm way of information
distribution is major important term, knowing such concept its important that Europe and Britain
country focuses towards with the appropriate decision-making wit application and consideration
of government decisions as well. Also, from the expansion of new approach its easier to create
new decision and identification of appropriate employees as well.
Theme 2: Analysis of the impact of Brexit over the supply chain of organization
According to Decleve and et.al., (2020) supply chain management performance influence
and affects from various external and internal aspect of country, area or place. Europe supply
