INTRODUCTION
Race is being defined as the category of humankind which shares a distinct type of the
physical traits. On the other side, ethnicity is being defined as the large group of people which is
being classed according to some common basis like race, nation, tribe or others. In the present
study the discussion relating to the identification of ethnic group will be undertaken. after that
the causes and pattern of the migration within UK will be analysed. Further the discussion
relating to the ethnic identity construction will be analysed. Also the analysis of social problem
related to the group and tackling of the social problem will be identified in the end.
MAIN BODY
Selecting the particular minority ethnic group
The minority group is being defined as the group of people who are practicing the
religion, race, characteristic and others among few number of people only. These are the people
who belong to a distinct group which exist but it is subordinate to the other dominant group.
There are many different types of the minority groups being present in UK and they are prepared
on the different basis like culture, ethnicity, race and many others different basis (Smith and
et.al., 2021). In the present case of UK minority group, the selected minority group for the study
is British- Bangladeshi people. These are the people who have gained the citizenship in UK with
help of immigration and the historical naturalisation. This term can be stated as the descendants
wherein Bengali Muslims have migrated to UK since 1940. Within the year 1970 the migration
reached to the peak and people were not originally being present from the Sylhet region. The
Bangladeshi is a type of minority group which is having one of the largest group of people living
overseas and is the youngest and fast growing group.
Critically analysing the four aspect relating to social experience
There are different types of the aspect which guides the experience of the minority group
to a great extent. This is pertaining to the fact that when the people live within the society then
they have to follow some of the experience and this might affect the working of the group. The
different types of the social experience are being felt by these minority groups. This is pertaining
to the fact that when the when the people are in minority then many a times they are being
discriminated.
Causes and pattern of migration to UK

The migration is being defined as the change of the residence by the individual that is
moving from one place to another with intention of settling there only (Chalmers, 2019). In case
of British- Bangladeshi the 2011 UK census recoded that almost half a million residents are from
Bangladeshi ethnicity. Also this group that is British- Bangladeshi has the highest overall
poverty rate among the other ethnic group in UK.
Along with this the theory of migration that relates to the case of British- Bangladeshi is
the Gravity Model. This is a theory which focuses on the contribution of geography within the
field of migration analysis which relates to the distance and migration. This model states that the
volume of migration within the two country is the function of not only distance but also the
population size. This simply means that the migration is being related or proportional to the
product of the population size. On the other side it is inversely proportionate to the square of
distance which separate them differently.
Along with this another theory being applicable in case of British- Bangladeshi is the
Standing’s theory of materialism. This is a theory which states the process of migration. In
accordance to this theory the size and level of migration need to be determined with respect to
the relation within the production of society, nature, wealth and other factors which are
controlling the growth of production within the society.
Further the pattern of settlement involves the fact that large immigration within UK took
place during 1970. The pattern of settlement for British- Bangladeshi involved moving to Britain
because the immigration laws changed and there was natural disaster as well like Bhola cycle
and the war between Bangladesh Liberation War which was done against Pakistan. After this
most of the people settled in Britain. The first Bangladeshi settled in UK in 1970 and had settled
around Brick Lane area of East London.
Ethnic identity construction
The ethnic identity is being defined as the attitude and behaviour of the youth which
defines the meaning and significance of the ethnic background. This assist in formation of the
individual categorisation relating to ethnic background and the self- concept and identity. This
ethical identity is being constructed in order to manage the working of the whole group in better
and effective manner (Multifunctional teasing as a resource for identity construction in the talk
of British Bangladeshi girls, 2022). This ethnic identity is being emerged within the social
psychology from the social identity theory. The local identity included the fact that there are

several of the young people who said that they have been belonging to local community and also
have talked about their home town and religion.
Along with this the boredom was created within the countryside of London and this was
made in accordance with the requirement of the British Bangladeshi only. This is because of the
reason that when the things will not be made in accordance to the requirement of people then it
will not be worth it. Thus, for this the identity need to be created in accordance with the
requirement of the British Bangladeshi (Finer and et.al., 2020). Along with this the identity
which British Bangladeshi already has in existence includes the fact that they have very violent
behaviour and also many conflicts are being created by them and tension is also created. This is
not a good identity of the British Bangladeshi as with this they can have fear of getting hurt by
such kind of people.
Further the social networks of British Bangladeshi include the fact that proper social
network need to be created in order to make the identity much strong and effective. This is very
important for the reason that in case the proper network will not be created then this will be
affecting the social status of these people within the country and they will not be respected. Also
the creation of social identity is very important for the reason that in case it will not be created
then this will be affecting the working and status of people belonging to the minority group.
Along with this making of the social identity is crucial for the reason that it will provide the
people with some distinct position within the whole society and they will be respected by the
complete society.
Social problem relevant to the experience this group
In case of the minority group there are many different social problems which the group
faces. This is pertaining to the fact that when the group is minor then they have to face many
different types of the issues and problem and may be discriminated with others as well. hence, in
case of British Bangladeshi as well there are many different typed of the problem which they
face while living within the society (Miah, 2021). in London the minority group that is British
Bangladeshi faces a lot many different problem and because of this they feel discriminated and
this affects the working and moral level of the person to a great extent.
With the help of the secondary sources there are many different types of the problem
being faced by this minority group. The first and foremost problem being faced by British
Bangladeshi which is major is the racial discrimination. This is the major problem because of the

reason that when the British Bangladeshi works in the external environment then in that case
they many a times feel discriminated because of their race that it they belong to the ethnic group
of Muslim people. So on this ground they are being discriminated to a great extent. this is the
major problem or the issue which the whole category faces while working within the external
environment (Houghton and et.al., 2020). This affects the working capability of the person
because when they are continuously discriminated then this will demotivate the people and their
working efficiency will be reduced. Hence, when the working will not be done in proper manner
then it will be affecting the attainment of objectives of business and ultimately they will be
harassed.
Moreover, along with this there are certain other issues or problem as well which affects
the working and living pattern of British Bangladeshi. This major problem includes
Islamophobia which is another structural barrier which creates drawback for the Muslim people
group. This creates the drawback of discrimination on the basis of non- white Muslim. This
simply means that the working of the British Bangladeshi will be affected in case they are non-
white Muslims. Within the corporate culture they will be discriminated on the basis of the race
and this is the major problem which the British Bangladeshi will be facing while working in the
corporate culture.
Tackling the social problem identified
The problem of British Bangladeshi need to be solved for providing them with the better
understanding and the stake within the society as well. this is very important for the reason that
in case they will not be provided with the rights and benefit then this will be affecting the
working efficiency of the group within the corporate culture. Thus, for this the most important
solution is to create awareness relating to the British Bangladeshi people among other people as
well. this is necessary for the reason that in case the other people will be discriminating then this
will be affecting the working capability and stake within the society to a great extent.
Along with this, the government also takes steps in order to protect the rights of British
Bangladeshi. For this the government of UK is providing better work opportunities and start- up
facility relating to the new business. also the government is providing other benefits and discount
to the British Bangladeshi women in case they start their own business (Ahmed, Mahmud and
Ali, 2022). This is being done by the government in order to promote the working of the British
Bangladeshi in UK. This is done in order to provide better growth and development

opportunities to this minority group so that they can grow and develop and got all their rights
without any discrimination.
Hence, with this it can be stated that there must not be any discrimination among the
minority group. This is because of the reason that when the working of the British Bangladeshi
group is being done properly but other white people are affecting the working to a great extent
(Eade, 2019). thus, this need to be stopped so that British Bangladeshi can grow and develop
themselves within UK corporate world as well. thus, for this having self- awareness is to be
present within the people so that they do not discriminate with others in any condition.
CONCLUSION
In the end it is concluded that race and ethnicity is very necessary to be known. This is
because of the reason that when the person will not be treated well while working or anything
then this will be affecting with status within the society. with the above finding it is clear that
British Bangladeshi is a minority group which is being discriminated to a great extent. Also it
was analysed that the working of this minority group is being affected to a great extent and the
major problem being faced by this group is racial discrimination. Also the ethnic identity is also
being created by the British Bangladeshi in order to evaluate the working of this group.
