Each task is design to enhance your knowledge and skills. You can use the
PowerPoint lecture slides which have been uploaded to Moodle to assist
you with Task A – Knowledge base questions.
With the assistance of your trainer you will be able to work through and
complete task B and C.
Both the learner guide and lecture slides have been uploaded to Moodle to
assist you in completing your assessment.
All documents along with the final copy of your assessment needs to be
uploaded to Moodle for your final submission date.

Task A – Knowledge Base Question - Ergonomics
Answer the below knowledge case questions relating to ergonomics.
1. For each of the following describe how you organise your personal work
environment in accordance with ergonomic requirements and
organisational policies and procedures.
a. Chair height, sear and back adjustment.
Chair height, sear as well as the back adjustment of the chair is one of
the most important perspectives in the management of the office
ergonomics. The management of the office must take care of the sitting
posture of the workers to allow them carry on their productivity in a
smooth and efficient manner. The chairs should be adjustable and must
be kept in such a manner that it is adjustable easily by the workers. The
chair must be kept in a proper manner so that its controls are easy to
operate from the sitting position. Apart from this the chair must be
capable of adjusting to both height and tilt. The chair must also should
be built with a non-slippery fabric and must have a medically approved
backrest. Apart from this the wheels of the chair must also be in line
with the flooring system of the workplace which ensures safety of the
workers.
b. Keyboard and mouse position
The proper positioning of the mouse and keyboard is utmost essential
for the proper functioning of the office staff. A bad posture and an
incorrect positioning of the keyboard and mouse can lead to the creation
of different problems for the employees which will lead to the loss of
business productivity. The choice of compact keyboards is quite
preferable as because such kind of keyboards are essential for the
success of the business. The choice of the right mouse is also highly
necessary. The choice of vertical mouse is highly preferable. The
positioning of the mouse and the keyboard in the elbow height can be
the best possible way to avoid any kind of strains on the body. It is also
important to place the mouse and the keyboard in front of the desk.
c. Lighting
Similar to industrial areas, office spaces are also in requirement for
proper lighting in order to ensure the easy completion of different kind of
the tasks. The installation of the appropriate lightings by the
management of the business organizations ensure the reduction and
mitigation of eye fatigues and headaches. The presence of a proper and

effective lighting ensures the easy tracking of the focus on different
kinds of the object and also concentrate on objects that may be fast
moving and quite hard to identify. The brightness of the lightings must
also be adjusted in a proper manner in order to ensure that the light
does not reflect and each of the objects can be easily seen and identified
separately. The presence of proper lighting is thus essential for the
success of the organization.
d. Posture
Similar to the likes of the importance of choosing proper hardware for
the organization, the management of the company has to follow a
number of strict guidelines that leads to any sort of problems due to the
absence of a proper sitting procedure or posture. The management of
the business instructs the employees to sit properly during their works
and practice different kinds of exercises that can help them to avoid
different physical problems related to health and personal health. It is
always advised for the management to ensure the distance between the
employees as well as the computer screen to be 20 inches away from
that of the computer screen.
e. Screen position
The screen position must be kept in a proper manner so that it is easily
adjustable. The presence of the natural posture plus the natural motion
and rest can only lead to the successful ergonomics in the global
workplaces. The natural posture of the seats and business individuals
makes the employee more happy and comfortable and also leads to low
storage of energy. The presence of all these factors are responsible for
the proper computing for the business organization in a proper and
efficient manner. Comfortable computing looks after the proper stability
of the human body which is easily possible through research. The screen
adjustment thus forms an important element in the success of the
business and also leads to the lowering of the risks for the organizations.
2. Give five examples of organisational requirements which relate to the
development of presentations.
The presentation in the organization is a long process and is generally
judged by a number of different features. Some of the major
organizational requirements that generally relate to the presentation of
the organizational documents are as follows;
a. The Vision of the organization
b. The mission of the organization
c. The objectives as well as the priorities of the business organization.
