QUESTION 1
Access the current WHS legislation in your State or Territory and describe the obligations of
each of the parties below.
Work Health and safety (WHS): Health and safety at the workplace is an important factor for
everyone and WHS approved in each & every state or region to fulfill legal requirements. The
government of each state passed laws, acts and regulation for safety and health of employees,
customers, contractors, suppliers, visitors, business owners and volunteers (Hale, et. al., 2012).
WHS act: It is a kind of law or an act approved in each region or state by parliament.
WHS regulations: The WHS regulations are a detailed description of duties that recognized in
WHS/OHS act approved by Parliament.
Employees-They should take care of themselves and also their co-workers. Save one another
from any kind of injury and not be irresponsible at the workplace(section 32).
Supervisors- They should deliver proper guidance and information related to any kind of
incidence and danger.
Managers/business owners- They should know about WHS acts or laws and have the ability to
manage risk and control from hazards. They should have an idea for development in WHS
policies.

How would you provide WHS information (obligations, policies, and procedures) to staff in your
workgroup and how will you manage adherence to associated policies and procedures?
Policies and Procedures: There are following steps related to obligations and policies-
Guide the workers with proper information related to WHS.
Solve their issues related to WHS.
Guide them with instructions and deliver training.
Policies- Policies on use of smoking, drugs and alcohol and housekeeping.
Procedures- Identify risk area, control on hazards, solve issues, correct mistakes, give a response
to activities (MacDonell, et. al., 2017).

What are workplace information systems employed in workplaces to help control and manage
work risks and hazards? Identify at least five.
Control and manage work risk and hazards:
1). Identify risk and hazards and workplace examination, record injuries and employees feedback
2). Risk valuation- includes injuries related to hazard, the frequency of exposure, types of risk
and hazard, the condition of the workplace (MacDonell, et. al., 2017).
3). Control and manage risk- remove problems and elimination of hazards, solve issues by using
engineering methods, manage administrative rules and apply them (Garnica, et. al., 2018).
