way of living life. Due to it, new normal has emerged as new concept or way of living life.
Thus, it is being adopted by people in society as well as in organisations. Moreover, it has been

negative impact of covid 19 on employee mental and physical health. In every firm leader play
vital role in managing of staff. They also work with them in effective way by directing and
guiding them (Anderson, 2017).
In this report it will be described about that how leaders need to approach new challenge
of adopting of new normal within organisation.
MAIN BODY
Leaders are main pillar of an organisation. They are responsible for all the things such as
guiding, training, motivating, etc. of employee and attaining of goals in time. Without leaders
organisation can not work and goals are not accomplished. Alongside, they need to manage
entire workforce as well. But in recent time due to covid 19 it has become highly difficult for
leader to manage work force. This is because of fact that now new way of working is to be
adopted in it. Besides that, use of resources and HR has modified and this has affected on
working in organisation. Also, there is high impact on productivity as well of staff and due to
that goals are not attained. The organisation is not able to manage workforce due to shortage
of employees. The new normal requires to work in new way by focusing on health and safety.
This is required to do so as now working in groups in single room is not accepted. Additionally,
new norms and guidelines are followed in it (Baškarada, Watson, and Cromarty, 2016).
It has been stated that there are many changes occurred in organisation because of this new
normal. As already many employees prefer to work from home instead of coming to
organisation. Furthermore, there is decline in performance of staff as well. Apart from it,
companies have to strictly follow guidelines and norms of government in it. there is need to
follow social distancing while working, compulsory wearing of masks, regularly sanitizes
hands, etc. Besides that, main is maintaining hygiene and safety at workplace. so, this is
difficult task for leader to do. The machines, equipments, tools, etc. need to be cleaned and
sanitized regularly. Thus, there is complete change in way managing them as well as resources.
A leader is also require to possess relevant skills and capabilities in order to adopt this new

way of working in organisation. There are ways related to how things are made into it. if leader
does not possess skills then it becomes difficult to train and develop staff. by adopting,
resilience, etc. this concept can be easily adopted. It allows in working with new norms and
procedure. Furthermore, new procedure and methods are included in it as well (Eva and et.al.,
2016).
Therefore, it is essential for leader that they must manage and handle this critical situation in
effective way. this is because if not handled than it can led to ineffective working in company
and leading to reducing its efficiency as well. Thus, in order to approach this new challenge there
are various ways the leader can do it. Here, they must apply different types of leadership styles
according to situation so that employees feel comfortable. In this the best is participative style
where leader will take decision by consulting with all employees. Thus, leader will get ideas and
suggestions regarding how to work, etc. this will also make staff feel comfortable as well.
basically, this style will also be useful in attaining of goals and objectives in effective way.
Moreover, leader must communicate regularly with staff regarding any issues or problems
being faced. It will be useful in finding out areas or problem faced by staff. Thus , with
communication leader will be able to motivate staff easily. They will direct and support them in
working in new way and accomplishing goals. So, if any staff is facing difficulty in working in
new normal way then leader can support them by solving their issue (Moldoveanu, and
Narayandas 2019).
Other than this, leader can develop a strategy of providing training to staff. They can do
planning in depth that how to train them, take feedback, do observation, etc. hence, through new
methods or ways training can be provided to staff on regular basis that how to work in new
normal way. This will make staff prepare about how they have to perform tasks, whom to report,
etc. besides that, leader should encourage staff to work in effective way. Motivation will be
useful in preparing staff to work in such a critical situation. It will remove feeling of fear from
them and they will be able to work freely in organisation.
The leader can focus on employee skills rather than their performance. This will be helpful
in ensuring that staff possess effective and relevant skills to be able to work in new normal. But
if leader focuses on performance then they will not be able to adopt this approach. It is because
leader will pressurize staff to work in even in bad conditions. Hence, it may lead to ineffective

can results in creating negative culture in business.
The leader should try and develop a new culture in organisation. It means that culture of
innovation must be created in it. The culture can be developed by including flexibility in
working. Here, the leader can practice flexibility working within firm. This will allow staff to
work in flexible way and also it will be easy for leader to manage employees as well. along with
it, staff will also feel comfortable in working in flexible way. this practice can be implemented in
at levels. Hence, leader should make plan of shift of staff is to be changed and this practice is
applied. Also, leader can provide more growth opportunities for employees and retain them. it
will enable in providing ease in managing workforce. For that new development program can be
started where staff is allowed to work in effective way (Yunarsih, and et.al., 2020).
So, leader are responsible for adopting of new normal in managing of workforce. They
