Case study: Ryan Air
Ryan air is a well-known Irish budget airline that was founded by Christopher Ryan, Tony Ryan,
and Liam Lonergan in 1984. The airline provides the low cost airline services to its target
segment. The low cost strategy of the airline was inspired by the Southwest airline. According to
Anwar, In recent times, various problems are faced by the airline company that is their
increasing cost of production and various other staffing issues(Anwar 2017). Moreover, Brexit
is contributing to the uncertain future of the airline. The Following report will be discussing the
SWOT and Pestle analysis of the
SWOT Analysis of Ryan Air
The SWOT analysis of the Ryan air is below-
Strengths –
Well- established European Market-
The Ryanair has well-established network of market that covers around 200 destinations with
1800 routes. The well establishedmarket of airlines in the Europe is the best place for it to obtain
the larger customer base thus improving the profitability of the company(Heracleous &
Papachroni New york city).
Good financial arrangements-
The company maintains its financial statements with high level of effectiveness by maintaining
its balance sheets in the best manner possible(Banks 2016). The financial statements help in
maintainingthe good positing of the business in an effective manner
Low cost is its competitive advantage-
Ryan air low cost is its competitive advantage as it provides the low cost airline services to the
people. According to Anderson, Unlike other airlines that operate at the motive of profit making,
the low cost motive of Ryan airline makes its consumer friendly(Anderson 2017).
