This project discusses the advantages and disadvantages of budgeting for organizations with reference to two scholarly reviewed journals. The advantages of budgeting include achieving financial objectives, estimating expenses, tracking expenses, estimating future money requirements, and organizing expenses. The disadvantages include increased cost and workload, departmental strife, inaccuracy, overspending, and complexity. The two journals analyzed the capital budgeting practices in Australia and Canada, respectively, and highlighted the importance of DCF technique and weighted average cost of capital method. The research questions and similarities and dissimilarities between the two journals are also discussed.
