Introduction
The building and construction industry is one of the main users of the energy and natural
resources. (Halliday, 2014, p. 219) The building sector is assumed to be producing and
generating intolerable intensities of waste material. Currently, the building and manufacturing
sectors have developed gradually and the importance of the environmental impacts linked to the
waste generation in the building of new constructions and the destruction of ancient
constructions (Wu, 2014, p. 194). The subsequent rise in capacity of building and destruction
waste has troubled local waste management structures and contributed to environmental
destruction locally and worldwide.
The formation and liable conservation of well and healthy built environment founded on
resource effective and environmental principles is dependent and rely on the designers and
building representatives. This implies on the linkage between the building sectors and the values
of sustainable growth and development. (The Energy and Resources Institute, 2015, p.
137)
Construction sustainability in built environment is a viable and sustainable design in which
the built environment attains unique stages of ecological stability over the new construction, in
the direction of the feasibility and humanization of construction (Janson, 2015, p. 327)
Putting to remembrance the desirability and appeal of sustainable development seems great for
the building industry to enhance progress in the strength and durability, reuse and recycling of
materials in the manufacturing of new materials
Recovery and regaining material wastes in a construction industry aids in protecting the
environment or ecosystem by decreasing and reducing the amount of landfilled waste. This is
