1.0 INTRODUCTION
The construction industry has been in existence for a very long period of time. In every error or
the evolution stage, new technologies have been emerging. Some of these technologies are
responsible for the complexities that have improved the work in this industry. The building of
structures has not only become easier but also cheaper. New technologies have reduced the
duration required for the erection and completion of the structures. The strength and the aesthetic
values of the buildings have improved too((Hensen & Lamberts 2012). The piece of literature
that has been provided has highlighted some of the specific components that have improved
including the roofing system, the wall system, and the floor system.
1.1 Purpose of the report

1.2 Background
In attempts to understand the latest development in the building and construction industry, the
task seeks to highlight the components functions. The methods of the laying of the foot system
have been extensively covered alongside the steel frame system. Although the focus was on the
tilt wall system, the gain knowledge gives experience on the expectation of other wall system.
1.3 Research Methods
The information regarding the components of the building was collected from both the primary
and the secondary sources. Some of the secondary sources included the journals and text books.
The primary sources of the information included observation that included travelling to the site.
1.4 Scope
The study that was conducted was limited to the study of the following components of the
building:
Footing System
Floor system
Wall system
Roof system
2. FINDINGS
The study that was conducted in regard to the components of the building are as illustrated
below.
2.1FOOTING SYSTEM
Footing system refers component of the structure that is normally responsible for the transfer of
the load from the building to the foundation. The major reason for the design of the footing
system is to assist in the safe transmission of the loads to the subsoil.
