1.0 INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this method statement is to describe the procedures and safe systems of
work required for the Installation of Building Management System (BMS) at the King
School project.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORKS

2.1 This Method Statement covers the nature and type of work for Installation of Building
Management System in the Kings School Building.

2.2 This Method Statement is to provide guidance in carrying out the Installation of Building
Management System in accordance with the standards, project specifications and
approved Material Submittal to ensure the performance of the Building Management
System.

2.3 Purpose of this Method Statement is to control the installation activities in line with the
Project Quality Plan and Project Technical Specification requirements to achieve the
optimum results.

3.0 SEQUENCE & METHOD

3.1 Method Statement to be provided for client/consultant approval.

3.2 Work shall be carried out by the installation team as per approved MS procedure under
the strict supervision and guidance of the MEP Project Engineer.

3.3 MEP Project Engineer shall check all the works done prior to sending the inspection
request to the consultant.

3.4 Request for Inspection (TCIR) shall be prepared by MEP Project Engineer and shall be
issued for further inspection with Consultant, Commissioning Engineer should implement
the consultant comments (if any) immediately.

3.5 Siemens Engineer shall co-ordinate and arrange for typical installation supervision if
required.

4.0 REQUIREMENTS

All BMS materials received at site will be verified in accordance to approved Material submittal.

Ensure the materials are properly stored in dry covered conditioned storage area in accordance
with Manufacturer recommendation. Protection shall be provided from dust.

Materials required to be stored at site prior to start the Installation shall be secure, safe and free
from any works or activities that might cause damages.

Ensure approved shop drawings are available at site for the execution of job.

Ensure civil clearance is obtained prior starting the work (where applicable)

Ensure approved Method Statement is available.

Benchmark shall be carried out at site in the permanent location (where applicable) and the same
shall be approved by the consultant prior to commencement of work.

5.0 METHOD OF EXECUTION

Ensure Material Submittal, Shop Drawings, Material Inspection, Inspection & Test Plan and Method
Statement documentation are approved in order to proceed and shall identify whether any special
requirements are required to undertake the works.

Ensure adequate quantity of materials pertaining are available at site.

Ensure Material Inspection approval is obtained in compliance to project requirements.

Ensure Approved shop drawing is available at site applicable for the installation that is required to be
performed.

Ensure containment/conduit installation, cable pulling, cable identification and continuity tests are
completed by respective parties. Continuity test report should be provided.

Site Engineer will inspect the area (i.e.) intended for Installation and ensure the location is free from
any clashes with other services.

Site Engineer will verify that the foreman going to coordinate the installation activity has been
informed on the codes of good and acceptable practices.

Site Engineer will ensure that related Safety works permits has been obtained prior to commencement
of installation work.

Tools and accessories for the purpose of Tooling and Installation is required to be used as per
Manufacturer recommendation.

Fittings and accessories specifically designed and manufactured for the application shall be install.
