employees are expected to visit the event. The stage for the red carpet walk is still underway.
The chef who will be organising the three course dinner has been confirmed as well.
Encountered problems
The encountered that were faced during the preparation stage was with chief guests.
Initially, a comprehensive list of guests were prepared and confirmed. Some of them decided
to refuse the invitation at the last minute which slowed down our preparation process
considerably (Negishi, Takada and Tono 2013).
Changes
The rock band was changed from Metallica to Guns N roses as the lead singers of the
former band were still confused if they will be able to attend the ceremony or not (Thienpont
et al. 2014). Initially, video ceremony of the achievements of the bank was being shown at
the starting of the ceremony. It was changed to a red carpet show with prominent guests.
Conclusion
To conclude, the progress with the preparation for the event are going as planned. The
setbacks were real but it has not stull not reached the critical status. This report is the updated
progress report. The preparation is expected to end on 15TH December.

Part B: Reflection on academic progress
This assignment has helped me in my academic progress and has helped me to learn a
lot of things. First of all, this unit was based specifically on communication skills. The
mentioned case study in the assignment helped me to evaluate a real life scenario and act
accordingly. In the first section, an email to the staff has been written for invitation purposes.
This particular assignment helped me to learn about writing an email formally to a wide
number of audiences. Normally, I conduct conversations in email with my friends. The
number of people are always below 10. In this perspective, the email had to be written to a
wider audience. Naturally, I used informal language to start the email conversation. But a
little bit of research helped me to assess that the email had to be written in formal language to
address the employees equally and properly. The assessment helped me to check how to
properly maintain a conversation if the targeted audience is changed abruptly. The
assessment helped me to evaluate my speaking skills and helped me to assess my speaking
skills within a group.
In the next section, a letter has been proposed to an external guest. This section was
particularly tricky for me as there was no confirmation from the receiver if he or she is going
to come or not. The external speaker was chosen as one of the finance ministers of Australia.
Addressing him properly was a major task for me. I had to be concise and up to the point and
be formal at the same time. My communication skills were widely evaluated during this
assessment. Next, I had to assess the proper structure of the letter. A proper formal letter
structure had to be made properly for addressing the high target client. The details of the
event were mentioned and a little overview was provided about the particulars of the event. In
case the client became interested, an open way communication such as email links and phone
number was provided so that the client can get in touch later. The message was kept short as

The next assessment was based on a progress report that discusses the preparations of
the event. It was addressed to the chief executive officer. The report discussed about the how
the preparations were going with the event ad how much work was left to do. I had to
research several real life case studies to find out the potential risks and challenges that are
associated with similar projects. Those knowledge were used to address the challenges of the
progress report. Moreover, the case studies also helped me to analyse the time schedule of
such projects and accordingly determine how much time this event needed to complete
certain preparations.
The next assessment was the report structure of the final event report. This assessment
helped me to determine how a final event report is written. This was the toughest part of the
assignment. I had no prior knowledge of the structure of the report and had to go through a
lot of study materials to determine the appropriate way of writing the report. I had to assess
that the report had the sections to analyse the key successes and issues that the project had to
go through.
The feedback of the lecturer has been considered in the assessment. His feedback has
significantly helped me to address certain issues while coping with the assessment. His
feedbacks had helped me to develop my public speaking power and the way to handle
conversations in different scenarios.
The turnitin report was good as well. It had minimal similarities and was good enough
to be considered. A little bit of plagiarism was found but that was not significant enough to be
considered an issue. The lecturer was pretty impressed with my report. The turnitin report

words. My assessments were purely based on knowledge gathered from my lecturer’s notes,
various online articles, study materials and books. There was no way that my assignment was
directly copied from an online file. Moreover, most of the topics were conceptually linked,
hence plagiarism was nearly impossible. After getting my turnitin report, my assumption
came to be true. The report said that my plagiarism was above the acceptable limit which
meant that y hard work has paid off. It gave me a lot of relief.
I will improve my academic practice through the lessons that are learnt from this
assessment. The assessment has helped me to devise the proper communication techniques
for assessing different scenarios. The tasks helped me to assess different ways of addressing
different people and helped me to gain the idea about developing a progress report. During
my research analysis, I came across a number of similar case studies of hosting an event. The
real word scenarios helped me to understand the various benefits and risks that are taken
during the preparation stages and helped me to check the recommendations for addressing
such issues. Moreover, the entire experience was educational for me as it helped me to
develop my speaking skills and addressing a group of people in a formal tone. This
assessment has helped me to develop my reading and listening skills and has helped me to
develop my inter communication skill as well. The case studies has helped me to develop a
practical knowledge of the entre scenario. The entire experience has been educational for me.
The feedbacks of the lecturer also helped me to evaluate the mistakes I made in my
assignment and helped me to deal with the issues appropriately. There were several learning
outcomes out of this assessment according to me. The turnitin report helped me to determine
