INTRODUCTION
Business can be considered as a comprehensive unit which includes different types of functions
in order to achieve the main objectives of the organisation. All such internal and external factors
that effect business are termed as Business Environment. Internal and external factors influence
the business in a very long term that it may be result in loses of the firm. This study will help in
providing different types, sizes and scope of organisation that impacts on the macro
environment of the business. This report will present various types of interrelated functions and
the impact of the organisational structure on the main objectives of the business.

Different types, size and scope of an organization
Any business can be determined by the organized efforts of an enterprise who supply variety of
goods and services to consumers. So these enterprises may vary according to the size and scope
of the business. All the organizations generally run for the purpose of earning profits and long
term sustainable development of the business (Aithal, 2017). With this dynamic and changing
world, the demands and supply of the goods rapidly changes and also to meet with this growing
demands of the consumers, organization have to adopt various challenges. Organization can be
further categorized into three sub sectors such as public, private and voluntary. The main
objectives of the organization are generally differed as some businesses are operated with the
intention of earning huge profits but some organizations operate the business not for earning
profits. Such company's which operate huge business activities not for earning profits are called
as NGO's (Non Profit organization). Different types of organizations are discussed below:

Public organization
Meaning:
Those industries which provides services to the public and are owned and controlled by the
government or local government
Objectives:
The main objectives to serve the citizens of the country. These industries operated with the main
objectives to serve the citizens of the country
Size and Scope:
Size of these organizations are generally huge because such enterprises operates at large scale.
Scope of public sector enterprise is wide because there is a stability in the jobs of the public
sector and hence people generally preferred to be employed in a public organization

The organizations generally rises the money from government revenue such as tax, duty, penalty etc.
Profitability:
Public firms makes huge profitability as they are operates the business for the benefits of the public.
Growth and sustainability:
These companies are usually funded from the money which is collected in tax or through governmental burrowing
Global growth:
Those industries which provides services to the public and are owned and controlled by the government or local government
Stockholders:
Government officials, employees, public service users, society etc.
Example
It includes various public firm such as health care bodies, police, prison services, telecommunication, Agricultural etc. Marks
and Spencer is one of the best example of UK in private sector

Private enterprises
Objectives
objectives of the private industries is the creation of the huge wealth by providing the goods and services to consumers
Size and Scope:
Size of this organization is generally varied according to the type of the business as these industries are private owned so
big companies are operated at large scale and SME companies are operated at medium scale. Scope of such business
is very high as individual get the opportunities to compete with the other industries of the world.
Market share:
Such companies raise money from the share and debentures issues to the public.
Profitability

Growth and sustainability
These companies vary according to the sizes like small, medium and large enterprises. It may be
either privately or public ally traded organizations.
Global growth:
Such units may be controlled by one or more then two owners but such organizations
contribute huge part in the economy of the country.
Stockholders:
Creditors, directors, employees, shareholders, suppliers etc.

Finance companies, It industries, banking, manufacturing etc. NHS (National health service) is

Voluntary sector
Meaning
These groups are generally charity based which are operated with not for earning profits.
Objectives
The main objective of such business is the welfare of the society.
Size
such industries are dependent on the number of people who are doing their self less job for the
welfare of society. The scope of such organization is the enlistment of the community.

Profits: Profits are generally low as such companies do not run for earning profits
Growth and sustainability: It lay emphasize on the small number of employees who are giving
up their time in volunteering the services however this contribute well in the economy of the
world.
Stockholders: Board members, donors, foundations etc.
Example: NGO's like BINGO (Business friendly international NGO), ENGO (Environmental
NGO) etc. In UK Environmental protection agency is one of the best example that serves the
voluntary services to the people of UK.

Interrelation of different types of functions within an enterprise
and the organisational structure
An organization is an organized process which involves different types of sub units in business
in order to different activities of the business (Bull And et.al., 2016). To carry out different
operations within enterprise the manager divides the activities into different departments which
is supervised by the managers of each department. The goals and objectives of all the
department generally varies according to their operational activities however main objectives of
all the departments are ultimately directed towards the profitability of the firm. Various
organizational functions which are operated within an industry such as finance, human resource,
operations and management.
Functional areas may be termed as the teams of employees who have similar skills and expertise
in the sane field. For example, sales department of the company consists of such dedicated
employees who have skilled knowledge regarding the selling of products.

Operational functional: Employees are hired to perform the main operations of the company
and such activities results in the production and manufacturing of the goods and services
within a corporation. So the production activities are interrelated with the marketing needs
which is managed by the sales departm
ent of the company.
Management department : This functional unit is engaged in all the activities related to the
actions and procedures formulated within industry. This functional unit manages all the
overall activities and strategies of the company. This is directly interrelated with the Human
resource department who manages all the tasks of the employees such as recruitment of the
workforce, training to the workforce and also salaries and payslip of the employees etc.

Human resource: This department ensures all the HR activities which is mainly concerned
with the employees within an organization (Julien, 2018). This functional unit is concerned
with training and development of the human resource of the company which is interrelat ed
with the operation department as well. Employees perform operational activities effectively
if they are well trained by the HR department hence all the departments of the particular
industry are mainly directed towards the main objective of the firm.
Finance unit: This department of the company is concerned with the cash flow of the firm.
This unit focuses in managing the fund of the company and this reveals the statements which
shows the financial position of the company. 02/4/19

All the functions of the business are ultimately directed towards the main objectives of
organization. An organizational structure of the company refers to the system in which all
the activities of the organizations are performed which includes roles responsibilities of the
people within the company. Also, the structure of the organization vary according to the size
and scope of the business. A business corporation need to be efficient, flexible, innovative
and caring in order to achieve the sustainable development of the firm. This type of
companies are generally very adoptable to the local markets as it quickly respond to the
changes in the trend of the local market. Some transnational organizations take the step as
mass customized products and services which are developed in mini factories which are

CONCLUSION
From the above study, it can be concluded that organisations vary according the size and scope
of the business. It has also concluded that business environment is greatly influenced by the
internal and external factors of the business. It has also been observed that different
organisational functions are interrelated with each other in order to achieve the main goals of
the company. Also, this study has provided different types of organisational structure and
followed by global, international and transactional companies.
