INTRODUCTIONBusiness is an organization, a firm, which is involved in an activity of producing andsupplying of goods and services to the customers. It can be of various kinds such as they canwork in profitable or non-profitable conditions Business environment plays a very big role, ifenvironment is not good in the business then it can affect them very badly. Businessenvironment is based on all the factors which affect internal as well as external environment of afirm that can affect the working conditions of their employees as well as external stakeholderstoo (Aterido, Hallward-Driemeier and Pagés, 2011). Therefore, it is very essential to know andanalyse both the environments. Unilever is company which provides various kinds of goods tothe customer, they produces food, cleaning agents, beverages, personal care items. They providetheir products and services around vast areas. In this report various types of firms are beingdescribed and the importance and environment in which they use to work in. And the otherthings which may affect the organisation internally and externally. TASK 1P1 & P2 Covered in PPTTASK 2P3. Relation between different organisational functions There are different kinds of departments in an organisation which use to deal in a variousparts. At some points it is good to have various departments in an organisation as they will getwork according to their post and this will help in dividing the works and decreasing the pressureand load form individual department. There are different types of departments in Unilever whichare like:Human resources: Human resource department is the main among others as they use totake care of all people working in the organisation. Their main work is to maintain a positiveenvironment in the firm which will help employees to work properly and thus, they can performwell (Avramenko, 2012). They do recruitments, select people which are suitable for theorganisation and provide positions according to their skills and knowledge. The employees plays1

an important role in achieving organisational objectives through contributing their maximumefforts using acquired skills and knowledge.Marketing department: This department mainly deals with the marketing of things andthey promote business and make possible efforts to sell the products and services to people. Theydo research about the market and provide information to organisation so that they can takeactions according to the results and information which they got. Along with that, they doresearch about the market and customers’ needs along with wants and their purchasing power. Inaddition to this,they can make avail the products and services according to their choices whichwould help in attracting more and more customers to organisation. They do marketing researchand collect information from various sources and channels. Through adopting various marketingstrategies the company can able to attract large number of customers through which they cangenerate huge revenues for the company.Finance department: This is a part of organisation in which people appointed to managethe money . This even includes planning, auditing and accounting to manage company’s finance.They maintain finance and records of all the departments related to money and if any of themneeds money, then they transfers them money and they record it in accounts so that they willhave all the records which will help in knowing about expenses and profits. They have to mainlykeep all the records of accounts so that they can improve and know about the financial conditionof their firm.The company can achieve objective only when the members of an organisationhave knowledge how to utilize financial resources thus it is important for finance department tocommunicate with their members and educate them about using available funds in an effectiveand efficient manner.Manufacturing and production: They produce products required according to thedemand of customers which are their target customers so and they produce products accordingly.Unilever provides different kinds of products so they have to take care about all the products sothat it can be produced properly and correctly. This would help the firm in producing goodquality products. If manufacturing them will have proper information then they can producegood products. They should have all the required materials to produce it. Producing qualityproducts to its customers help company in attracting large number of customers and generatehuge revenue. This will also help company in attaining brand image and competitive advantagein competitive market world.2
