INTRODUCTIONEnvironment of the business is being referred as the set of whole external andinternal factors of the organization that can affects its operation condition. In this factorsall the employees of the organization, need of the customers and expectations, demandand supply, clients, owner, management, market trend, government activities,technological development and many more that can influence the whole organizationaloperating situation. This assessment is going to explain the various kinds of thebusiness operating in the market and their scope and purpose to operate. Interrelationof different functions of the organization and its influence on objective of the companyalso will be explained. Negative and positive influence on the UK retail industry will beincluded. Furthermore external and internal analysis will be conducted to identify theopportunities, threats and strength of the UK retail industry. At the end how theweakness and strength of the retail industry interrelate with the external factors will beexplained.PART 1 P 1 various kinds and objective of the organisationThere are number of the organisations operating in the different industrial marketwith having the different objective. Like some organization work to earn more profit,whereas some organization have aim only to serve the better services to the needypeople. This organisation can be categorized in profit or not for profit organization(Hillary, 2017). These organizations and its purpose are:Profit organization are those kinds of the organization, whose main purpose isonly to increase its profit share and to make money. In this type of the profitorganization, private sector can be considered under it which also operate only to makemore profit in the market.John Lewis partnership is considered as the big private organization, whichoperate in the retail industry (Prajogo, 2016). This is the partnership type company,whose ultimate aim and purpose of this partnership is to generate the sufficient amountof the profit from the market with the help of the trading activities.Legal structure of the John Lewis company is as follows, company has threegoverning authorities, the partnership council, the partnership boar and the chairman. In
this private organisation, all the rights and responsibilities are being done under theagreement of the Deed of partnership or the article of Partnership. The company isbeing derived by the Chairman who is elected by the board of directors (Laudon andTraver, 2016).The public sector organizations are those kinds of the organization which arederived and owned by the government. These public sector organisation's main aim isto give the best services to the people of that city or country. These organisations arebeing invested by the different sources like, financial, taxes and fees transfer etc. basicobjective of the public organisation is only to provide best services to their citizens not togain profit from them.For example, NHS (National Health Service) can be considered as the publicsector organisation which is being run by the help of the government of the country. Andthe basic objective of NHS is to serve the quality services to people and minimize theerrors.These organisations are used to describe as the nationalised industry and arederived by the central or the local government This kind of the organization are not being operated to make profit from themarket by their operating activities but to serve the best services to the needy people(Butler and Wilson, 2015). These organizations are run by the number of the volunteerpeople and it has no or the little government intervention. The purpose of thisorganization is to give benefits to the society and make it enrich with the services,without having the motive to make profit. Oxfam is being considered as the non-profit or the voluntary organization. Thisorganization is run by the number of volunteers. Purpose of this organisation is to servethe lifesaving emergency services to their people (Bogers, 2017). This Oxfam is the charitable trust which is registered under the company’shouse.
