INTRODUCTIONEvery organisation irrespective of the sector whether engaged in retail or manufacturinggets influenced by several factors of business environment which are complex in nature. Suchinfluencing factors includes political instability, economic fluctuations, technological changes,lack of management support etc. To deal with such influencing factors, it is the responsibility ofmanagement to make suitable plans and competitive strategies after determining both negativeand positive impact through conducting PESTLE and SWOT Analysis. The present assignmentis divided into two parts. The first part is an essay which determines the types of businessorganisation along with their size, scope, organisational structure and functions. The other part iswritten in report format which describes PESTLE Analysis along with its negative as well aspositive impact on retail sector organisation. It also discusses SWOT analysis on an organisationengaged in retail sector along with its impact on decision-making process of an organisation.PART AIn a marketplace, there are numerous organisation who have different type of purposes,objectives and functions. Business environment includes factors such as internal and externalwhich gave impact on the functional and operational activities of a firm. Marketplace is majorlycategorized in three parts such as profit, non profit and NGOs. They all have different type ofaims and goals and they are working for it. Profit organisation / private is an important kind of organisation who wants profitabilityat any cost. It is a major part of the economic system of a nation which is operated or regulatedby two or more individuals. Main objective behind these type of organisation is to earning profitthrough providing services to customers. For example Marks and Spencer is a multinationalretailing chain which was founded in 1884 at London (Yoon, 2012). As they have longexperience in this field so they are providing better products and services to their customers. Themajor purpose of private organisation is to provide quality products to the customers at lowprices due to which, they will get satisfaction from them. They want to build a positive image oftheir organisation in the atmosphere of society. For this, they makes healthy relation with theircustomers through providing products which are sustainable in nature.Size – The company is operating its business operations in more than 80 countries whichincludes Europe, India, China, UK etc. As per the financial report of year 2017, the company1

have earned the revenue of 10.62 million pound. They have more than 80000 employees who areproviding their services in these nations.Scope – M&S is engaged in retail sector and provides a huge variety of products whichincludes clothing, Home and luxury food products. The management of firm is believing inproviding quality of product instead of prices due to which they have created a huge customerbase in the global market. Hence, it can be said that the scope of M&S in achieving growth andsustainability in the marketplace is very high.Non profit organisation is also known as non-business entity the main objective. It isformed with a large number of individuals and they are working together for achieving theircommon objective. These kind of organisation are called as charitable trust, the main purposebehind formation of these organisation is to removing issues from the society such as poverty,disease etc. for e.g. Hope for Justice is a non- profit organisation which have an objective toremove human trafficking and slavery from the society. The main purpose of non-profitable firmis to provide help to poor people and provide them money for spending their livelihood.Size – The firm was started in 2007 and they have only 70 employees which defines thesize of the firm is very small.Scope – According to the press release of firm, the employees of firm has assisted thearmed forces in rescuing 140 victims from human trafficking for this the firm has been awardedfor Excellence in Giving transparency services from the UK government. Hence, It can be saidthat, the scope of firm is very bright in future.NGOs are a non-governmental organisation which operates independently. Anygovernment body has no right to control them. It is created by people who wants to provide theirservices to the needy in their society. The purposes of this kind of organisation may be varioussuch as education, policy, human rights and many more areas which requires changes accordingto objectives of the founders of NGO. For e.g. Oxfam is a type of Non-governmentalorganisation which is founded in 1942 and established in UK. It delivers their services in the UKand outside of UK with an objective of removing poverty from the world.Size – The firm was started in the 1942 with an aim of eliminating the poverty from theworld. The organisation have 20000 volunteers who are performing their activities for achievingthe goals and objectives of the firm. Recently the firm has raised funds of 17.1 million poundwhich defines the size of Oxfam in the international market is very large.2
