Towards more flexible approach to governance to allow innovation: The case of UK

Project and program governance can be defined as a specific term that is commonly
used while undertaking any kinds of project management related activities. The success of a
project management depends directly on the governance procedures it follows. Thus it can be
said that the failure to implement a project governance policy in the proper manner can lead
to the failure of the project. The paper here highlights the importance of the project
governance in the management of the project and also the creation of a new and better
approach that can help the organizations to carry out innovations through their projects. The
paper has described in detail the different frameworks that has been created by different
experts to understand the importance of governance. The works of Winch as well as the
combined works of Winch and Leiringer has been cited as the example that showcase the
different capabilities of the governance that helps in the management of the interference
between the owners of the business and the temporary team developed to carry out the
project.
The use of the narratives has been mainly focused to gain the idea of the governance
that is constructed by both the permanent owners and the temporary project management
team in the most efficient manner. The journal article has been able to keep their
concentration on mainly two major questions on what are the narratives of the governance
format in projects and the extent to which the interference of the governance helps to curve
out opportunities for innovation process. The review of the topic have started with the
introduction of the term governance based on the critical analysis of various research
scholars. For example the author has cited the definition of governance by Muller et al.
(2016) recognizes the importance of governance and their capability to operate at multiple
levels. On the other hand, the works of Biesenthal and Wilden (2014) cites governance as
