Introduction/Problem Description
A project of building a system name “My Housing” is proposed by the Housing NSW.
Housing NSW is an agency of Department of Family and community services which is
responsible for the provision and management of public housing services and it aims in
preventing homelessness in the State of New South Wales, Australia. The project “My housing”
is proposed to streamline all the operational process associated with applications related to
housing assistance. This digital platform will enable the clients to manage and update their
documents along with applying for the needed assistance for housing, in an effective manner
(Wiesel & Habibis, 2015). In the following paragraphs, the system capabilities of “My housing”
project, its business benefits and the risks associated with this project are discussed.
System Capabilities
The proposed project aims in development of a system named “MyHousing” that will
allow the clients to submit online application for the needed housing assistance from housing
NSW. The capabilities of this proposed system are indicated as follows-
Client Registration/Login: MyHousing system will allow the clients to register into the
system to carry on with their application process (Paris, 2017). After registration, the client will
have to generate a login ID and password to login into the system for further application process.
Application and Information Management: After login into the system, the clients can
submit their applications online. MYHousing system will guide the client in providing the
necessary details such as their identification proof, certificate of include and others (Ong, Wood
& Colic-Peisker, 2015). Thus, the entire process will be automated that will save a considerable
amount of time.

Reduction of Administrative Task: MyHousing system will allow the clients to manage
their application process. The system is capable of integrating all the applications automatically
into back end systems, which significantly reduces majority of the administrative tasks.
Reduction in paper works: MyHousing will allow all the works related to the application
process to be conducted online and thus, this system has the capability of reducing the paper
works to a significant extent (Dennis, Wixom & Roth, 2018).
Enhancement of Client Experience: MyHousing system is capable of enhancing the
client experience as the entire application process can be carried out in a single platform which
enhances the client experiences.
Application Tracking: MyHousing system will enable the clients to track their
application process by logging into the system.
Access Support for the Services: The proposed system will be capable of providing the
needed support for the services asked by the clients, thus increasing the customers’ satisfaction
(Teixeira et al., 2016).
The above discussed points indicate the major system capabilities of the MyHousing
system that is proposed. The proposed system is capable of managing and streamlining all the
major operations related to drafting an application process.
Business Benefit
The proposed project of MyHousing system has certain business benefit and therefore,
successful accomplishment of this project is a necessity. The business benefit are discussed as
