EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report will discuss importance of starting project to improve company's performance
and will analyse different reason for company' failure which include poor marketing, poor
quality of product and ineffective management. This report will also discuss business option and
its benefit and disbenefit that impact company' and will discuss cost and timescale of the
business.
INTRODUCTION
Every business organization want their business to growth and their product to meet
demand of customer in the market, Original Creation want their business to grow. This company
is facing issue due to some reason, these reasons are generating huge loss for company
(Gambles, 2017). These reasons are poor marketing, low quality product, poor supply chain and
higher return rate, this company need to develop new product and have to set new product line to
survive in the market. This report will discuss reason that becoming weakness of the company
and background of Original Creation. Later this report will discuss business option and will
discuss its benefit and disbenefit. At last, this report will discuss weighed score card, time scale
and cost of the project.
MAIN BODY
Describing reason for doing this project and providing background of the business organization:
Original Creation is not performing well, this company is facing huge losses due to
ineffective management and with poor product processing. After many unsuccessful try, Mary
Shelley the founder of Original Creation is looking forward to improving their business internal
ability (Goldratt, Schragenheim and Ptak, 2017). There are many products of Original Creation
which are not performing well for example; toenail clipper, There are many reasons for creating
improvements project, these are:
Lower sales: every business organization want their product to perform effectively and generate
huge profit, lower sales is one of the major issue faced by Original creation because there is
lower demand in the market. This company is ineffective in managing their sales process, poor
marketing process is reason.
Poor quality: poor quality of product and service is one of the reason why company fail to
survive in the market, product of Original Creation are made with poor quality which is rejected

by customer. It is very clear that product need to meet demand of customer according to quality
and price charged by the company.
Poor supply chain: warehouse problem is faced by every business organization, Original
Creation have poor supply chain that impact their positioning in the market, due to this,
company's product are damaged and return rate are high.
Background of the company:
Original Creation provide lifestyle product that allow company to improve their fashion
and lifestyle, this company have wide range of product which include; rain wear, air freshener,
birthday card kit and some of outdoor collection which may include garden light, clothe dryer
and garden cleaning product (Narkunienė and Ulbinaitė, 2018). With wide range of product, this
company face huge issue in management and supply chain, although this company do not
manufacture these item, but they become third party. Original creation is facing issue in their
product, supply chain and quality. Founder of the company, Mary Shelley is conscious about its
company.
Business option available with the company to improve their company and providing Weighed
Score-Card:
Every business organization face issue in their business process, there are many reason
why fail in the market, Original Creation have major issue why their business is failing which
means they need to choose one of the best option that can help them to survive poor market
condition. These options are:
Do nothing option: do nothing is one of most popular option available to business whether they
can choice nothing over making poor decision, Original Creation can adopt this option that will
allow them to be safe from making mistake that cost them. It is very clear that, this company
might face huge losses because of one wrong move (Psomas and Jaca, 2016).
Do the minimum we can: this type of option allow company to do minimum or to take
minimum risk, Original Creation can adopt this option to take some risk and become stable, this
risk is associated with cutting off extra product that cause company huge losses. This company
can use this option because doing minimum will help to survive in the worst situation they are
ended in.
Do something else: do something else is one of the best and most effective option which a
company can adopt and survive the worst situation. Original Creation need to consider this

option to survive in the market, this option will allow them to completely change their product
line and manufacture those products which can meet demand of consumer including quality and

Improved result: do something option allow company to improve result, Original Creation can
improve their result, while adopting this option, this company have to improve their product
quality and even have to change their product range. The biggest benefit of using do something
else option is better result, it is very clear that company is under performance which means they
can not simply waste their time and affords to make things better, minor changes will not bring
company's stability, Original Creation have to bring major changes.
Clear vision: every business organization want clear vision which allow them to stay stable
throughout the process, using do something else option allow Original Creation to get clear
vision. It is very clear that when Original Creation will change their product and focus on
product quality then they will get clear vision. When business do not have clear vision and
mission statement then they do not understand which direction is beneficial, Original Creation do
not have clear vision which is one of the major reason for company's failure in the market.
Unlock better option: using do something else allow company to unlock wide range of area
where they can improve their themselves which means Original Creation will develop a sense of
survive the market, this company will going to enjoy benefit of opportunity. These opportunities

allow Original Creation become more stable, becoming locally stable is important for every
business organization, it is important to fulfil demand of customer locally to become stable.
Expected disbenefit or limitation of choosing effective option for the improvement:
High risk: do something else is one of the most risky option because company will have to
change their strategies and even have to change product line, Original Creation is performing
low because of toenail clipper which have bad quality but completely changing product lien will
have higher risk that company might even fail and find hard to survive.
Low expecting result: do something else is very risky but might work for some business
organization, this option might provide low result and does not meet intended outcome. Original
Creation might face serious issue because of do something else option as result may not meet
outcome for example; if changing product line impacted supply chain then company might fall in
the market.
Failure: failure is something which have higher possibility, company might fail in every process
just because of this option, Original Creation is already been performing ineffective which can
be turned into worst if they adopted this option, with high risk other failure are connected. From
production to marketing, each and every pillar of the company will be impacted, Original
Creation will face failure if they use do something else option.

Personal reflection:
Kolb reflective cycle allow person to perform personal reflection of module or academic
session which they have attend, this module allows person to provide concrete experience,
reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation (Kolb and Kolb,
2018).
Concrete experience: during this module, I have developed skills from experience I got before,
during and after this module. During week 2 I have learned about organization structure and
develop clear understanding on concept. I have learned how working with others become
essential for business management process, it is very clear that every strong business structure
need team which help them to achieve organizational aims and objectives. During this module, I
have developed certain important skill which help me to become fit for employability process
(McLeod, 2017). I have developed ICT skills and learn how to manage files with Microsoft
office, during my academic session, I was unable to manage my work but after completion of
this module I am able to manage my work with the help of this module I now have skills to use
ICT and complete my.

Apart from this, I have developed numeracy skills where I have crafted data analytic
skills, now I am able to statistic and data with the help of ICT skills. During this module, I have
developed communication skills both written and verbal, this module helped me to sharpen my
communication skills and allowed me to better my auditory process. Apart from communication
skills, I have developed active listening skills where I can actively listen to individual or group.
Reflective observation: during this module, I have explored different area of development
where I had good experience. I have attended every week and learn different business element.
My experience was good in the middle of the module but after some period of time, I faced issue
in understanding chosen topic. For example in week, I have learned how communication skills
become essential and important in the business process (Schultz, McEwen and Griffiths, 2016).
It is very clear that business leader need to have communication skills which will allow them
lead people of the business.
I already had communication skills but my skills was sharpened at this module. During
every week, I have worked with team that allowed me to complete this module successfully but
at some point my experience was bad because team member become ineffective and started to
work differently impact strength of the team. In week 3, my ability to solve problem was tested, I
have sharpened my problem solving skills and solved those problems which have arrived during
completion of the module. There are certain things which have failed in the module, I have not
covered some important topic which will impact my process. During week, business
management was introduced which was not covered by me and this will impact by employability
process as well.
Abstract conceptualization: during this module, things went well, I have learned and explore
different area of development and sharpened my skills for example communication and problem
solving skills. I have face certain issue during this module which impacted my learning process, I
need to improve to make my next module effective and employability skills sharpened. Situation
was favourable throughout the module but there are some part which was bad. Working in team
become challenging for me and impacted by learning strategies as well, but I am preparing to
address new module effectively (Smith and Williams, 2018).
My experience was moderate because I have learned new skills and faced issues as well, I
will be effective in next module as I have marked my weak points in this module. It is very clear
that this module was effective because my tutor helped me throughout the process, they provided

guidance that helped me in understand every week. As in week 3 I have learned how to develop
poster which was challenging for me but with the help of my tutor I have learned how to make
effective poster and learned presentation skills, now I can craft better poster with better design
and I will be effective in next module process in the academic session.
Active experimentation: during this module, I not only have learn new things but I have
developed an ability to manage myself and business organization. Now I am suitable for
employability process where I can apply for a job and provide effective contribution in strong
organization structure (Watson, Noyes and Rodgers, 2019). I will apply my learning experience
to the employability process and will try to become effective, there are certain weak points which
that impact my learning process and I think this will arrive in next module as well, to overcome
barrier that will arrive in the process, I will acquire theoretical knowledge and explore different
area of development. I will try to make next module effective with effective strategies crafted
with the help of experience, I have been practising theories but I will explore different theories
that will be beneficial for me in the process.
CONCLUSION
This report has discussed case study of Original Creation and understand their movement
in making business successful. Later this report has provided explanation of every point covered
in case study and analyse its key points. Later this report has discussed part 2 where reflection is
been provided and used Kolb reflective cycle to discuss key skills which is been learned during
the module. At last this report has discussed employability skills which include communication,
numeracy, ICT, problem solving and working with others.
