This post talks about the significance of and important factors related to internal
communication in any organization. It describes the exact role internal communication plays in
the successful operations. It discusses the flow of information along the chain of command in the
structure of the firm. It also highlights how the success of a proper and efficient internal
communication structure can help regulate the employees’ organizational and make them feel
valued and empowered. It focuses on the components of clarity, channel and flow of
communication and attention and shows the distinct role of each component in the proper
completion of a communication process (Ahmad, 2016). The post is comprehensive and covers
nearly all aspects of corporate communication.
However, there are a few factors that may be pointed out: In the context of flow of
communication, the post mentions “proper flow of command down the organizational structure”.
Communication, is a two-way process, which means that as command flows down the structure,
feedback must also flow up. In fact, in an organization, communication needs to flow in all
directions, both vertical and lateral, that is, between employees of the same rank and
departments. The component of multi-directional communication is absent. Another component
that should have been included is the nature of the channel of communication. Emphasis is laid
on the importance of a proper channel of flow and chain of command, but misses out on the
medium of information transmission: whether written or verbal or electronic. The nature of the
medium plays a vital role in the composition and reception of the message (Quirke, 2017).
The post also misses out on the necessity of a common context and language between the
sender and receiver of the communication. Without the mutual understanding of the context and
