This essay will highlight, how the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) became 3rd most diverse
and inclusive company in 2019 (Inclusion, 2019). RBC has launched programmes, policies and
projects for diversity and inclusion. In last discussion will focus on job benefits and gender wage
gap in RBC.
Gender wages or salary gap
Definition
The Cambridge dictionary stated the gender pay gap is the difference in middle of the
value of wage or salary paid to women and men, for same work.
Policy
RBC believes in diversity and inclusion is a start for innovation and economic prosperity.
Active use of diversity leads to better ideas and that ensures the company's growth. Diversity and
inclusion are core values that RBC uses in day-to-day decision making (RBC, 2018). It is
believed by the company diversity and inclusion is not just correct but ethical as well. RBC
believes in giving equal opportunities to employees.
Priority of the company,
RBC embraces diversity and inclusion for innovation and growth of the company (RBC,
Diversity & Inclusion, 2016). Believing in diversity and inclusion provides high visibility and
continuous reinforcement in the company. Thus, diversity and inclusion are one of the main

strategies to meet the needs of their workforce.

RBC has a policy that declares "pay for performance" to ensure employees enjoy the

committed to respecting human rights. It provides career growth tools, training to ensure success
in particular fields.
