Part b. The reflective questions
Put First Things First
The one activity that I could do which I am not currently doing is doing things that are
important but are not urgent through planning and categorising events based on their
importance and not urgency (Covey, 2014). Therefore, the activity that I am supposed to
apply is the use of time management matrix to manage my daily activities. Accordingly,
through the use of the time management matrix I would be in a better position to focus on
significant activities which would add value to my life. As a result I would use the time
management matrix to pursue my academic dreams which is become a lawyer. Accordingly,
the time management matrix will help me to categorise all my tasks such that it would be
easier to manage the available time in the most efficient way (Huggins, & Lee, 2016).
Therefore, even though my dream of become a lawyer are long-term the only way to achieve
this goal is by developing a habit of giving priority to important but not urgent things.
Indeed, through the use of time management matrix it will aid me in identifying the
things that I really need to spend my time doing. Consequently, this is an essential tool that
will help me in prioritising my work, goals, personal roles and commitments. Certainly, the
time management divides activities into four quadrants with the second quadrant being
described to the one with highest quality since it help to work on important activities but they
are not urgent. Therefore, working on important and not urgent activities will help to increase
the chances of realising my dreams since doing same things regularly will become habitual
and I will do them in a proactive manner.
