INTRODUCTION
The business communication refer to passing of a message and information within and
outside the organisation for financial advantage of the company. It is a collective method to share
the news or information in enterprise level business. In business communication, there is
assigning of task to the employees, receiving and responding to the customer's feedback and
publish a press release and some example of the business communication. It is concern with the
company's objective to product marketing and selling. Business communication mainly used to
promote the products, origination and service to relay an information in the business (Adeniran,
2022). The firm chosen in this report is Brit-Tech. This report will include the general
organisational communication theories, barriers of the communication that made workers
unwilling to return to office and strategies of the respective company to overcome from these
barriers.
Theories of the organisational communication
The organisational communication refer to channels and kinds of the communication in
which an organisation including corporation, non profit business, government bodies involvement
and other etc. The organisational communication is very complex in nature as there are several
moving pieces at workplace, which need a clear and understandable communication. There are
different theory regarding organisational communication which are mentioned below:
 Team learning theory- Under this communication theory, in the organisation, all team
member establish an effective communication by listening each other carefully. Every
individual put their own thoughts and idea forward to resolve different organisational
issues. It help them to increase their productivity and also enhance their performance at
work. Additionally, main purpose of this theory is to create a healthy work environment
within the organisation by paying more focus on their objective rather than their personal
goals.
 Adaptive structural Theory- it is most effective theory of the business communication.
In this, it focus on structure of communication process where all employees are engaged
into interact with digital media technology. Additionally, it also focus more on role of the
advanced information technology and other changes at workplace. This theory include the

integration of technology that help a business to maintain its communication process
(Rubtcova and Pavenkov, 2018).
 Act theory of communication- This communication theory can be defined by an
effectively analyse the knowledge for motivation and distribution of the information by
using experience, ideas and thoughts. An essential factor of this theory is to complete
given project effectively so that all members in the organisation can follow diverse set of
this process. By undertaking this theory of communication, psychological hypothesis can
be analysed that obtained by an immense experience.
 Agenda setting theory- In this theory, it is related to the ability of influencing public
agenda in efficient and effective manner. This theory of communication described a
suitable method in which media tries to attract customers and along with this, it also
established a popular hierarchical structure. It put forward an idea that the news media
create public agenda by making audience think things they want to show.
Barriers of communication which made employees unwilling to return to the office in pandemic
In COVID 19, as it is declared by the organisation that the employees will work from their
home, due to this they had to face several challenges . They also faced many types of the
communication barriers. In context of the Bri- tech, some main communication barriers are
mentioned below:
 Physical barriers- In this, it result from physical distraction and other external elements
from surrounding environment that may hinder in flow of the smoothly communication.
During pandemic, employees did not want to travel in public place due to the hygiene
issue. In context of Bri- tech the employees of the respective company are unwilling to get
public transport and they do not want to travel during this peak time because of the
COVID 19 (Thompson and Reeve, 2021).
 Emotional barriers-In pandemic, as they workers are allotted with work from home then
they feel that it very comfortable to work form home rather than work from office in this
time period. In relation to Bri- tech, employees of the company prefer to work from home
as they feel that they can perform better with more productivity by following their own
timing schedule. They also resent having for coming in office.

 Organisational structure barriers- After outbreak of the pandemic, many guild liens has
been declared regarding the organisational working system. In context of Bri- tech,
workers are very disturbed about lack of the ventilations and social distancing measures in
the organisation. Working staff of the organisation are also unsure about what is expected
of them and how will they manage new return to the office.
 Perceptual barriers- In this, the employees are worried that if they are not vaccinated
then it can create major problem for teem at workplace as they will be risky for other co
workers in the organisation in relation to Bri- tech, during this time period, some
employees decide to not be vaccinated and they are worried about the discrimination at
workplace whilst those who have been vaccinated as they would hesitate to interact those
employees who are non vaccinated.
 Interpersonal barriers- As due to the social distancing and lock down, people were
staying at their home and stop to go outside. In this situation they were not able to meet
with other person which is an interpersonal barrier. In relation to Bri- tech ,during the long
lock down period, the employees feel that they have lost their interpersonal skill and they
are nervous about to engage with other colleagues (Zhang and Muller, 2020).
Brit- tech strategies to overcome from these barriers
By having an effective communication strategies, the respective company can convey its
message to its employees . The company should such communication way in which they make
understandable the employees to get clear detail of their message. They should be avoid any type
of misunderstanding a it can impact the employee's performance. order to overcome form the
communication barrier, the respective firm undertake some strategies which are discussed below:
 Use appropriate language- The company convey its message and other information in
such a language which is understandable by its workers and uses acknowledgeable
expression which can get by its employees easily. It may involve demonstration the sign of
wearing mask, social distancing and many more (Hao and Li, 2019).
 Request and provide feedback- It is essential for understanding and overcoming from the
barrier of communication by asking employees to give their review and feedbacks. By
taking employee's opinion rearing work from home will help the company to rectify their

mistake that improve better result. It help to work on effective thing and assist to identify
solution in order to provide best facilities to employees.
 Try to understand employees- Majority of the communication barriers at workplace arise
due to the misunderstanding other side. In order to make communication properly the
respective company should understanding its employee's point of view related to work
(Amawi and et. al., 2019).
 Be specific in information- In this, the company should be very specific in their
information and other message. They should avoid unnecessary details and communicate
only essential information which help the employees to understand actual concept and
perform efficiently according to the given information (Whalen, Milios and Nussholz,
2018).
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that, the organisational communication is very
essential to do a abusiveness. There are different kinds of the communication that are adopted by
business, it can be formal communication and informal communication. The COVID 19 create
many communication barrier in the organisation such as emotional barrier, physical barriers,
interpersonal skill barrier and many other. To overcome form all these barriers, the company had
to undertake different strategies so that they can communication easily with their employees.
Mostly worker did not want to return office as they are worried about travelling. By using public
transportation they can get impacted by the virus which is very risky for their life. Due to this they
worked from home. Hence, it is essential for the companies, to communicate with their employees
in such a manner which encouraged the workers to work efficiently.
