INTRODUCTION
Business communication can be defined as the process of sharing the information among
the people inside or outside of the firm. Business communication is effective when the
employers and employees interact with other in order to reach out to the organizational goals. It
has the major purpose to improve and enhance the practices of the organization and also to
reduce the errors as well. There are several types of communication which are followed by the
organization such as internal communication, external communication, upward communication,
downward communication, lateral communication, non verbal communication, verbal
communication, formal communication, informal communication and many more (Guffey and
Loewy, 2021). The following discussion is based in the Bri-Tech technology company which is
based in UK. The current report covers the general theories of organisational communication and
barriers of communication which made employees unwilling to return to the office. Report also
covers the brit-tech strategies to overcome these barriers with recommendations and conclusion.
ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION
General theories of organisational communication
There are various types of general theories of organisational communication. Cognitive
dissonance theory is one of the theories which state that the employees usually avoid the
experience of dissonance. The reason being is that it is difficult for them to accept or to agree
with. They are reluctant to have such feelings because they think that listening to anyone's views
can result in a debate. Communication accommodation theory is another business
communication theory. This theory states that the motivational aspects and the communication
styles among the people are mainly of two types that is the convergence and divergence. It also
states that the people who are having a strong ethnic background will definitely try to transfer
their styles with the help of divergence so that they can highlight the significance of the group
identity. The people who are powerless and helpless transfer their communication styles with the
help of convergence at the time of the social acceptance requirement. Coordinated management
of meaning is also one of the business communication theories in which people formulate the
meaning with the help of coordination of conversation (Bolten, 2020). Coherence occurs when
stories are told and the coordination occurs when the same stories are made alive. This theory
basically states that there is a strong relationship among the person and society in which the
