Introduction:
Effective communication can be stated as the proper interaction between the employees and
the managers and the administrative body using various methods of communication like
verbal, non-verbal, physical and several others to create an efficient business environment,
establish a relationship between the employees and workers and to adopt a friendly
interaction process within the organisation (Austin et al ., 2015).
In this study, a critically scrutinised report has been prepared about the various types of
effective communication and the various effects of them have been discussed in detail.
Walmart, which is a premium retail outlet across the world, has been taken as the model
organisation and the various ways in which the various the organisation operates has been
shown. The relationships between the employees and the management have been discussed as
is the various modes of communication used. A deep analysis has also been done to show the
impact these types of communication has on the business, with Walmart as the model
organisation. The importance that they have in any business organisation has been elaborated
as well.

Discuss the role of effective communication within management.
In modern business structure communication has become very important, especially as
organisations are making more and more efforts to lessen the gap between its employees and
administrators. Better understanding of each other’s problems within an organisation and an
open and friendly atmosphere promotes better functioning and thus creates a positive
reputation about the company.
Other than the above, smooth and effective communication instils a feeling of confidence in
the employees. During my time in Walmart, I found out that there was a rather friendly
exchange of thoughts and ideas amongst the staff. There were very few barriers, and if any
were found to exist that feeling of rigidness was solved by friendly exchanges. The
organisation encouraged both verbal and non-verbal communication, although it must be said
that there were certain lags when it came to feedbacks from e-mails. I was constantly
encouraged to take an active role in managerial discussions where all our problems were
discussed in details in face-to-face conversations and the administration made their best
efforts in bringing about a solution.
Effective communication also enhances the attitude of the employees as a well-informed
person can always perform their task in a better and efficient way. The confidence that they
get for a high level of efficiency motivates them even further and their attitude exudes a
positive vibe. With globalisation gaining more grounds as the days go by, no kind of business
can survive without having an appropriate connect with the outside world. The amount of
outreach that Walmart had and the way they could forecast the demands of the people
astounded me at times. They have used the online marketing platforms wisely and have
appealed to the younger consumers in the process. They made extensive research on the
demands of the population and promoted their products accordingly on the various social
media portals (Linton et al ., 2016).
Achieving the organisational goals is one of the topmost priorities of any company. As
already discussed above, proper sharing of information and making sure the employees
understand the various rules and regulations of the organisation should be the responsibility
of the management in general and the Human resources in particular. To remain an effective
competitor in the race to achieve that ever-elusive top position, Walmart, I found out, took
special interest and pays special attention to information dissemination, which is the reason
why it has been able to overcome many issues and ensured that the whole team was in perfect
