INTRODUCTION
Business data analysis considers activities which helps managers for undertaking
strategic decisions , attaining major objectives and to solve complex issues through gathering,
reporting and for analysing important information as per requirements of managers. The present
report will discuss about Duque Papertiers gross with stationery business and will reflect
overview on stationery market. This report will discuss about annual spending of writing and
drawing materials per capita with product category of total sales of year 2015, 2016 and 2017
along with methods for raising consumer survey responsive rate.
TASK 1
Overview of stationery market in Germany
In the present scenario, there is development of stationery industry with reference to
multiple products and services which helps in adjusting innovative consumer preferences and
habits with increment in market vitality and special issues arose in the present trend. This
industry is well positioned as it has turnover which is more than €14.8 billion per year as it is
equal to individual's yearly spending which is more than €182 on annual aspect. It has been
traced that Germany had spent €35.2 on drawing and writing materials as it is at second position
in European countries. The organization's positive attitude with context of stationery industry is
underpinned with more than 70% of German stationery brand have increment is sales with
context of year 2015. As per association of German Stationery brands its total turnover had
attained growth of 3.5% within year 2014 and 2015. In this aspect, its outcome with reference to
domestic demand has accomplished growth with 2.5% and international demand with 5%.
These stationery brands of Germany has the best reputation throughout world as with its
positive image they have significant market shares of writing and drawing materials against the
private labels. Consequently, industry comprises products with broad range along with different
development along with challenges. The paper and its products such as document folders have
continued for getting turnover in declining aspect as this category of product is suffering because
of increment in digitisation which has been undertaken in private and work life. Conversely, the
paper products, brands of categories of other product had attained positive rate of growth like
office and writing instruments has attained growth with 5% in year 2015 as this trend is expected
with continuation in year 2016 (MGCC perspectives, 2018).

The sales of year 2015, 2016 and 2017 have been traced with its major categories such as
printer cartridges, general office supplies, low cost printers and many more. It has been observed

that printer cartridges are raising by 4% in 2016 but in 2017 decreased with 15.38% and this was
similarly articulated in general office supplies as 8% in 2016 and decreased with 14.81%.
Furthermore, with context of low cost printers it increased with 20% but then it was constant in
year 2017.
The most important category of product is office furniture and writing and drawing
material which raised in both 2016 and 2017. The shredders raised by huge proportion in year
2016 by 16% and even paper based supplies as well but they were constant in 2017. Overall,
total sales increased with huge proportion from 2015 to 2016 by 10.30% and from 2016 to 2017
it decreased with 2.20%.

Interpretation: The correlation coefficient is considered as appropriate statistical
measure which will be calculating strength of relationship among with relative movement among
two variables. It is measure of degree or relation about linear relationship as it is not capable for
capturing non-linear relationship. In the above table, the correlation coefficient is 0.73 which is
near to 1 as it indicates quite strong relationship in total sales and year.
d. Forecasting sales of 2018 and 2019
The equation is 6500 (x) + 162000 which has been articulated by scatter plot as x as 4
and 5 where it will be in year 2018 as 6500 (4) + 162000 with outcome of €188000. In the
similar aspect when x is 5 in year 2019 as €6500 (5) + €162000 with result of €194500.

measures for business entity to address, detect and prevent bribery. It considers adoption
of anti bribery policy as this will help business entity for implementing its system and to
enhance control. In the similar aspect, risk will be decreased with bribery occurrence for
demonstrating stakeholders (International Organization for standardization, 2018).
ISO 31000 Risk management: It is guidelines which gives principles, framework along
with process for risk management. It could be used for raising likelihood for attaining

objectives and to improve determination of opportunities and threats for effective

The online survey must be conducted as it is very simple, powerful and cost effective
method for determining behaviour and attitude of its target audience, employees and customers.
On the contrary, to retrieve satisfactory amount of raising survey responsive as for analysing and
interpreting data is full potential. The methods for raising participation and responsive rate are
stated as follows:
The survey must be simple as long questions must be retrieved exactly as per answers. It
gives positive experience with context of respondents but it should be completed on thorough
completely. The potential participants must be acknowledged personally with inclusions of their
name in email invitation. With this small sample, there should be consideration about not of
individual importance on basis of business with appreciation of opinion. The value must be
acknowledged personally which might help in cause for purpose of delivering value proposition
of survey is very essential. The respondents must be aware about value of potential respondents
which will be provided to business.
The researchers, businesses and marketers have to select respondents with fewer
incentives with consideration of option for motivating who will not take survey as with concrete

benefit with exchange of thoughts and time. Furthermore, expectations must be established as it
should set aside with context of survey. Numerous questions with requirement of less time for
considering it as it might be selling point for driving participation. It must send appropriate heads
ups and follow up as in advance it must be communicated for letting audience know about
survey as after initial invitation, people might undertake survey in appropriate aspect but in
presence of all likelihood various people will not. As the response rates must be increased with
only 1 or 2 follow ups emails over particular duration with reminder to its potential respondents

b. Descriptive statistics
Interpretation: The above table is articulating descriptive statistics of outcome of 20
questionnaires of four variables as customer service, Quality P&S, sales staff along with price
value. The 3.5 respondents are favouring the customer service with perspective of mean as
quality of P&S is about 3.15 with sales staff of 3.45 and least about price value is at 1.95. On
basis of standard error, each variable is about 0 and middle value customer service and sales staff
is excellent whereas quality of P&S good and price value is fair. There is identification of mode
where multiple respondents agree with excellence of customer service and sales staff, good for
quality of P&S and fair on basis of price and value. The standard deviation is about risk
movement with reference to mean as each variable is approx to 0 but it is mandatory to be
observed as it might go up and down as well. The highest risk is of sales staff as 0.83, followed
by customer service 0.76 then price value is 0.51 along with quality of P&S as 0.37 which is
minimum in these variable.
CONCLUSION
On basis of above report, it had been articulated that Germany stationery market is
referred as one vital sector which is contributing to economy of Germany in appropriate aspect

as it is in huge demand driven through strong propensity for consuming and to invest through
commercial and private customers respectively. It has shown that Germany, Switzerland and
Austria are having cut throat competition on basis of Annual spending on writing and drawing
materials per capita where Poland is at last among seven European Union countries. In the
similar aspect, while gaining better understanding of wholesale stationery market in Germany,
the total sales of year 2015 to 2016 was raising with huge proportion but on the contrary, it
decreased with 2.20% in 2017 as office furniture and writing drawing material was only
increasing in 2017 and rest all are same or decreasing.
It has shown that business expansion in Belgium and Germany is beneficial to Duque
because of positive outcome and it must comply with international standards such as quality and
risk management and many more. In the same series, it has shown that consumer survey
responsive rate must be raised by keeping survey simple, personalised invitations must be sent,
value must be communicated, expectations must be established and head up and follow ups must
be sent.
