BUSINESS DECISION ANALYTICS 1
The fast changing workplace demands in the 21st century call for greater flexibility in the ways
individuals and work teams make and implement decisions. During one-week period, I actually
made decision regarding appointing the right candidate for the post as per the fast changing
workplace demands. As these changes were of very needy as the employees or mangers were not
understanding about the demands of the workplace with the changes in the economy. During this
period, I understand that decision making is the key skill in the workplace and essential for
leaders. It is also essential every day in my personal life. Decision making is the important skill
for effective leadership and management. I came to know that the people are just not suited to
role of leadership because of the lack of ability or capacity to take decisions.
During one-week period, I made major decisions such as replacing existing employees with the
newly appointed experts for those specified posts where two to three employees are already
appointed for the same task. I made tough decision to appoint experts in place of those two to
three employees for a single task. This all changes are required because a gap between the team
was identified, which was resulting in the privacy of the information. One staff member knows
all the information whereas some other staff did not, and if that one person had left the
organization, the knowledge this staff had would be lost. Therefore, to cope up with this type of
problem there were a need of change.
My decision making preferences was to identify the nature of the problems or situations that
arises due to the replacement of existing employees with the new expertise and I selected best
possible array of alternative solutions that is providing greater trainings to the existing
employees and make them professionals in that field for handling the tasks on individual basis.
This situation majorly arises so I prefer to use decision tree analysis to cope up with this situation
and effectively identify the problem and alternative solution for the same so that the probabilities
of occurring such situation are minimum at that point. The decision tree analysis helps me to
arrive at an objective solution to the problem occurs.
My personality style is analytical as I am more focused on the fact based introverts. I constantly
assessing, identifying the pros and cons and making lists of the things I need to do for the
company to be become more effective and efficient. I believe in constantly asking questions and
getting too much data or information. My strengths is to focus internally rather than externally,

not anticipating the situations and quickly responds to the problems arises in the company for
maintaining effective and efficiency, develop and coaching others regarding the tasks and other
activities by providing them greater training within an organization so that they can be more
creative and analytical, drivers, expressive for the task provided to them (Harrison, Et al, 2018).
My analytical personality type and strengths have greater impact on my decision making style.
As my decision making style is analytical. I preferred to use direct observations, data and facts to
determine the best outcomes. I face one issue that is time consuming since I looked at every
possible alternative before coming to the conclusion Due to this style of personality, I have
ability to adapt or cope with the changes or unique situations. It increases the critical thinking
skills for the decision making within an organization. My strengths play a greater role in
enhancing the decision making skills as I am more focused on the internal factors more than the
external factors which helps in taking the good and valid decisions for the company and its
growth (Klein, 2009).
I took a feedback from my three class members via survey form which I sent to them on mails
regarding taking feedback on whether decision made by me is working or effective within an
organization or for an organization or not. Two persons agree with my decision and said that it
would definitely help in succeeding in future growth. One person did not get agree with my
decision as he has different thought of knowledge and decision making style which varies from
my decision making style but I considered his feedback on my decision and make few variations
which I feel right about that feedback which I must avail in my list to do within an organization
for successful working of an employees.
The secondary sources of data such as original documents, empirical scholarly works I used for
getting information and take decision on those sources of data. I took feedbacks from the class
people or group people by using surveys, visits, or focus groups. I used these methods in
response of getting their own views on my major decisions made within the organization
(Ishizaka, 2018).
The decision tree tool I used as decision making tools to make better and effective decision. It
helps me to contemplate each alternative available and the results of each. It makes my decision
making process simpler and analytical. It helps me to layout the problem of replacement of

existing employees and training of those employees so that all the alternatives can be challenged
(Dhami, & Thomson, 2012).
The decision which is made by me is effective as it increases the productivity of the organization
as well as employees. This decision helps the existing employees to develop themselves and
enhance their creative skills to work on individual basis on a task given to them. The
replacement of existing employees is worth for long period for the organization as they get
professionals for their tasks and this increases their productivity and leads to success in the
minimum time period which before took maximum time to achieve the set goals as employees
are not experts and they work in teams which consumes times and efforts. The training provided
to the existing employees gives an opportunity to develop their working skills and abilities to
work on every difficult task and become experts (Beshears, & Gino, 2015).
The significance of decisions made above is it determines how successful I am and can able to
conduct various managerial functions such as planning, organizing, directing, controlling and
staffing. It increases the effectiveness and efficiency within an organization and efforts of an
individual. It helps in placing right people on right task at right time. It leads to successful
operations or functioning of the company and its business (Akinici, & Sadler-Smith, 2012).

I chooses the prescriptive data analytics for best decision making process. The prescriptive
analytics is the crucial or very important at the time of taking decision within the organization
regarding operational or human resources matters. I use this data analytics to satisfy the needs of
the business at the best for future. It is a proactive approach. It is observed that companies
recently come to the situation or point when they need data analysis which is advanced and
choose to adopt that effectively and efficiently.
