This assignment involves analyzing the results of a course satisfaction survey conducted among 60 participants at UKCBC. INTRODUCTION
For the success of any business, it is necessary to have good planning and decision
making team. To compete in this world that is full of challenges and competition, one should
have to be good in the decision making. Employee's Development is necessary for college in
measuring the work performance of professors and tutors. It helps the students in building their
career on the right path by motivating them towards achieving study goals.
This project report is based on UKCBC which is one of the leading college institutions of
UK. For conducting study in appropriate manner two campuses of educational institution has
been selected such as Wentworth and Lord house. Innovative ideas from employees make new
changes in the growth of UKCBC College. So, the talented and skilled teachers are to be hired
over there. Besides this, report will also shed light on statistical as well as financial tools and
techniques that aid in the decision making process. Hence, report will develop understanding
about varied tools like correlation, descriptive statistics etc.It also depicts manner in which
information processing tool helps in simplifying the large data set. The present report will
present the manner in which different investment appraisal techniques help in selecting suitable
project
TASK 1
a. Creating a plan for the collection of data
On the basis of cited case situation, UKCBC College wishes to get information about
experience and satisfaction level of students. Higher authorities of college want to assess the
challenges that are facing by students. Growth and success of the college is highly influenced
from the extent to which students are satisfied with the educational facilities provided by
institution. Thus, to meet such objective, UKCBC has taken decision in relation to conduct
investigation. In this, researcher is required to select appropriate investigation type out of two
such as qualitative and quantitative. Under qualitative investigation, scholar makes assessment of
theoretical aspects and thereby presents suitable solution. Such investigation is highly significant
which in turn helps in developing future hypothesis more effectually (Anderson and et.al., 2015).
On the other side, in quantitative investigation, scholar makes assessment of numeric facts and
figures to analyse the issue.
In this, qualitative investigation has been selected by the researcher which in turn helps in
evaluating the underlying facts and opinions more effectually. Thus, for getting information

about the satisfaction and experience level of students, scholar will make assessment of
qualitative dataset.
Besides this, data is the main input that researcher requires for resolving issue and
developing understanding about topic. There are mainly two types of data that can be gathered
by the researcher such as primary and secondary (Corless and et.al., 2015). Primary data may be
defined as information that is gathered by the researcher for first time to meet specific aim. There
are several methods through which researcher can gather primary data which includes the
following:
 Survey: Researcher can gather data by conducting survey through the means of
questionnaire. In this, scholar selects some individuals from population by undertaking
suitable sampling technique (Baldner, Longo and Scott, 2015). Hence, in survey, by
sending questionnaire to the respondents, scholar gathers data.
 Observation: Under this method, researcher observes situation without approaching
respondents selected for the purpose of study. Hence, in such primary data collection
method, respondents are unaware with the purpose of study.
 Interview: In interview, researcher gathers data from the selected respondents by using
checklist according to the issue. Under such method, researcher collects data by asking
questions from the selected interviewees.
All the above depicted tools are highly significant which in turn helps in
collecting suitable information according to the research issue which is going to be investigated.
In the present study, research is conducted by an investigator for assessing experience and
satisfaction level of UKCBC’s students. Thus, for the collection of specific information, survey
will be conducted by researcher. For the purpose of gathering primary data, researcher will select
suitable sample as due to having issues regarding time and financial resources, this is not
possible to conduct study on whole population (Badri and et.al., 2015). Thus, by undertaking
simple random sampling technique, scholar will select 30 students of UKCBC pertaining to
Wentworth and Lord House campus. Thereafter, scholar will prepare questions including study
material, teaching staff, infrastructure and other services that are offered by the college
institution. In this way, with the help of questionnaire, survey will be conducted by researcher on
the students of UKCBC. Rationale behind selection of survey method is that it helps in getting

highly specific information according to the issue. Thus, by organizing survey and sending
questionnaire on the mail id of students, scholar will gather data.
b. Presenting survey methodology and sampling frame in the context of current research issue
The current study is to be analysed in order to know that students of the UKCBC college
are up to which extent satisfy with the different kinds of facilities and services provided to them.
In order to collect primary data questionnaire will be distributed among the students of the
college and taken responses from them. The survey will be conducted by the researcher in
present study is through online methodology. In this kind of procedure and tool of survey
methodology majority two kinds of the techniques are to be taken into account which are such as
direct e-mail and social media network (Cashmore and et.al., 2010). Further, with the help of
these both the methods, questionnaire will be distributed between the students of two campuses
of UKCBC college like Lords House and Wentworth Hose. When the questionnaire of research
are to be fulfilled by the respondents then responses also collected with the same methodology
like online.
The reason for undertaken this respective method is that, it is very cheap and amount of
total expenses are lower as compare to other methodology like physical meeting etc. Along with
this, when talking to the time aspect then online methods take very lower time to collect
responses and primary information. Hence, due to time saving and inexpensive tool the online
survey methodology seems suitable for the present research and study.
Moreover, in the Lords House and Wentworth Hose campuses of UKCBC college there
are huge number of students or pupils studied where it is not possible to distribute questionnaire
among all of them (Yan and et.al., 2015). In order to reduce such kind of problem there is sample
data are collected by the researcher and then research questionnaire are given to them. While
taking sample size proper and effective kind of the methods are taken into consideration.
Moreover, some basic sampling methods which are generally used by the scholar for assessing
sample data are described as below:
 Simple random sampling: The method for collecting sample data in which randomly
samples are undertaken by the researcher among the whole available population is called
as simple random sampling tool. Under this, any kind of other techniques and parameters
are not included where analyst free to take sample data on the random basis. It is one of

the very easy as well simple method in which any kind of difficulty is not to be faced by
the scholar.
 Cluster sampling: According to this method of sample size collection, overall research
area is to be divided on the basis of geographic concepts (Barrick and et.al., 2015). It is
one of the best tool of sample data collection for the marketing researcher where analysis
of the overall area can be done in effectual ways. Further, in this kind of method
parameters are settled out which are geographic basis.
 Stratified sampling: As per this respective method, sample size are taken on the basis of
different demographic factors and elements which are like age, gender, marital status etc
(Danforth and et.al., 2016). Further, overall population is to be divided in such kind of the
aspects and then sample data are collected.
In the present study of Lords House and Wentworth Hose campuses, simple random
sampling method is undertaken by the researcher where sample of 60 students are taken
randomly.
c. Designing a questionnaire for survey
In order to do survey of the students of two campuses of the UKCBC college there are
questionnaire framed and distributed among them. Further, questions for conducting research are
of the close ended in which options are to be given (Bantug and et.al., 2016). Such kinds of

In the present study overall primary data and information collected from pupils of Lords
House and Wentworth House campuses of the UKCBC college. From available all the students,
as a sample size only 60 are selected and on different kinds of above mentioned questions
responses are taken. In order to make analysis and determine, their level of experience as well as
satisfaction the below mentioned data used which gathered from total 60 students. On this
collected data set, different SPSS tools and techniques are to be applied which are like median,
mean, mode, quartile, standard deviation and percentile (Chow and Teicher, 2012). Further,
calculation of such methods along with the interpretation given as below:

For taking business decisions the cited educational institute considers various kinds of
statistical tools and methods and apply on the collected information. At the majority level, the

SPSS methods are highly supportive in terms of making business analysis and derive possible as
well as effectual business decisions. Moreover, explanation of measure of central tendency
which are used in the present study are such as follows: Mean: The method and tool of statistical in which average value of the overall data set is
to be calculated and on the basis of that decision is made. In the company if mean value
is lower as compare to the collected data, then it can be said that performance of the
entity is in effective and increasing trend. When applying in the UKCBC college of both
the campuses then, in case average students are higher in comparison to the average value
then it can be said that it able to attract more pupils (Nandi, 2013). Further, if facilities
given by the Lords and Wentworth campuses are attractive and teaching methods are also
of the higher quality, then students taking admission in high number. Mode: Another tool of the measure of central tendency is mode where the particular
values is represented which often occurs in the whole collected data. By this the
management easily able to determine that point of profit of sales which frequently
generated by it within some number of fiscal years (Lakew and Rao, 2015). In both the
campuses of UKCBC college, when manager wants to derive that how many students
frequently taken admission in last 10 years then the respective tool is the mostly used and
suitable. Along with this, calculation of this is also easy which can be done by the
teachers of Lords and Wentworth houses.
 Median: Apart from the mean and mode, there is median value is also applied on the
collected information in appropriate manner. When the gathered data set in huge number
and not possible to make proper analysis then median is the helpful tool for break down
in equally two parts. After using this statistical method, the whole data are divided into
two parts and summarised in the proper ways (Hahn and Doganaksoy, 2011). Further, it
becomes easy for the management of both campuses in order to make analysis and
determine reliable conclusion.

According to the survey, there were total 60 respondents, in which scholars have
analysed that there are maximum number of students which were 28 was of age group 25 to 34

years who are studying in UKCBC university. Further, there are 16 respondents who are of age
group 35 to 44 years, only 10 were of age group 18 to 24 and minimum were of 45 to 54 years
that is 6. Besides, it may be possible that university can have increase the age group of 35 to 44
and 25 to 34. According to scholars, university should offer the courses which attracts the
generation of 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 years as all others seems least interested.

respondents from which maximum number of students were from Lord house branch that is 35
and minimum were from Wentworth house which were 25. Hence, according to research it can
be said that University may face increase in candidates of lord house branch of UKCBC college.

The university is offering four courses to its students which are business management,
information technology, travel and tourism, and health and social care. In contrast, from the
survey analyst have collected data from 60 respondents. Further, from which maximum number
of students are studying business management which were 30 and minimum number of students
are studying health and social care which were only 7 and other 18 are studying information
technology and travel tourism. Hence, there are chances of increase in students of business
management. According to the data it can be said that the university should offer courses related
to business which will attract more and more students.

Researchers even asked the students how much they are satisfied with the courses of
university. In this satisfaction classification of students was done into five parts which were
extremely, not at all, moderately, slightly, and very. Hence, after the evaluation scholars
analysed that there were only 5 students who were extremely satisfied with the courses offered
by the university. There were 28 respondents who were slightly satisfied, 13 were on neutral
graph, 7 were not at all satisfied with the courses and other 7 were very satisfied. Research states
that, if the campus will offer excellent facilities for studying than the university can increase the
number of students studying.

As per the views of total 19 students, the management of UKCBC needs to make changes
in the time of providing adequate information for them. Moreover, 13 pupils suggest to the
college that, it needs to take care and improve existing facilities which are related to the
cleanliness.
b. Creating trend line for assessing the pattern of student’s responses
A geographical feature through which any kind of values are forecasted for the next year
is known as trend line. In this three trends included which are like upward, constant and

downward. From the data set, if trend line derived of the upward then it can be estimated that,
the values will increase in the future period. Further, constant trend line reflects that firm will
perform same in the future and any changes will not come there. On the other side, from
downward trend line it can be predetermined that, performance of the company will decline in
the upcoming years.
Through this management of the entity easily able to forecast that in the future which
kind of situation can be incurred. Further, on the basis of that, it able to make business decisions
in proper as well as fruitful direction.

branches, it can be evaluated that there are chances that in future the student will increase in
Lords house brand of UKBC university.
According to trend line chart of university satisfaction level of students from quality of
course it can be concluded that, the students are slightly satisfied with the quality of courses in
university.
According to trend line chart of matching up the student expectation, it can be evaluated
that university is matching up the expectation of students and are chances that in next few years
UKBC will face increase in number of students.

Introduction
The current report explains about the satisfaction level of the students from the teaching and
other facilities provided by the Lords and Wentworth house campuses of the UKCBC college. It
shows that which kind of courses are studied by the students in these campuses and take
education from it. Along with this, it reflects about the shifts of the lectures which are attended
by the pupils in both the mentioned campuses. At the end of report conclusion and
recommendations are to be provided for the UKCBC college.
Purpose And Limitations
 To analyse and found out expectation as well as satisfaction level of students in Lords
and Wentworth campuses of UKCBC college.
In the present study two kinds of data analysis methods applied on the data set which are such
as thematic and statistical. Hence, major limitation of the current research is that, it is very high
consuming which lead to reduce efficiency of the researcher. In opposite to that, time allocated
is already few due to which only two campuses of UKCBC college analysed which are such as
Lords House and Wentworth House. Moreover, analysis of all the four campuses is not
completed because of lack of time availability.
Content
It can be found from all the mentioned graphs and analysis that, major number of students
belong from the second age group which is like 25 to 34 years. In this respective age criteria
total 27 number of pupils studied among the overall analysed 60 of Lords and Wentworth
campuses. In addition to this, it can be assessed that, major number of pupils which are like 35
between 60 studied in the Lords House campus and rest like 25 taking education from another

surveyed college campus. Further, most of the students who are such as 30 studied about the
business management and 15 taken education related to the travel and tourism subject. Among
the total 60 pupils 8 and 7 are studied about the health and social care as well as information
technology respectively. Moreover, major number of the students such as 28 are slightly
satisfied with the quality of courses which are offered by the UKCBC college campuses in
proper manner. It can be said from the trend line that, in the upcoming years, in the course of
business management more students will take admission as compare to the others. Moreover,
under the travel and tourism course also number of pupils will increase in next periods but with
the lower rate as compare to the business management course.
Summary and Recommendations
It can be concluded from the current report that, the Lords house and Wentworth house
campuses of the UKCBC college performing average in the educational industry as per the
analysis. Further, in some case performance of the college is much better like it provides good
information to the students in appropriate ways. Along with this, when looking at the number of
students then majority is in the Lords House campus as compare to the other.
It can be recommended to the Lords and Wentworth campuses that, they must behave with the
students like as adults and give some respect to them as pupils are key assets for the UKCBC
college. In addition to this, it should provide data, learning materials and information to the
students on time or before the exam time. Due to this, they able to perform well, achieve higher
marks and satisfy with the highest extent.

a. Analysing information processing tools that help in decision making
 Strategic level: This is an unstructured information system used to plan the strategies for
business. Decision-making system are used by the top management level to make
general decisions. It is used in decision making in an organisation through computers.
DSS is used to compile information which can be used in solving problems and making
better decisions. The main objective of DSS is to evaluate the performance of the

employee in the organisation by increasing the production (Dayani and Gelbard, 2015).
For example: Data, documents, decision-making tasks, etc.
 Operational level: This is a structured information system used for the routine operation
transactions in an organisation. This level shows the day to day performance of the
business transactions in an organisation. Transaction processing system helps to collect,
store, modify and to retrieve the data for an enterprise. It defines an interdependent
relationship in support of a service to describe the responsibilities of each internal support
towards the other groups. It is practised to create the efficiency of the business to
administer the business. For instance: customer care staff in an organisation, nurse staff
in a hospital, etc.
 Tactical level: This is a semi structured information system used for making partly
decisions by the users. This is dominated by the middle level managers to oversee the
activities by operational level management. The decisions are made on the set of
guidelines and judgemental calls (Suttorp and et.al., 2015). The sufficient knowledge of
specific business analysis techniques are required to get the current job done. It provides
the overall direction to an enterprise to set its goals below the managerial activities. For
example: launch a new product, buy or rent premises, transfer of staff, etc.
b. Preparing project plan and determination of critical path
A project plan is contract between the project manager, project team, executive sponsors,
and other employees who are involved in management process of business. The most important
part of project plan is the documentation at all the levels which can affect the functioning of
project.
Critical path: It comprises series of activities from start to completion of project. It
indicates the all the issue which can come across while the operations or work in progress of the
project so that the project manager can understand steps to control the risk and to ensure smooth
functioning of project in order to get the work completed with the given time period (Spiranovic
and et.al., 2016).
The calculated critical path for UKBC project is of 1+2+3+7+8 which will take 17 days
for completion and includes all the effective functioning of project.

Net present value: It is the best method which helps in calculating the difference
between present value of cash inflows and present value of cash outflow. It gives the accurate
figures which can be useful in capital budgeting and to evaluate investment profitability in the
particular project (Net present value, 2013).

NPV technique of calculating net present value indicates profits and loss of the business.
Moreover, positive NPV indicates profitability and negative indicates losses. Besides, the

from the investment made. It is a discounted method which makes cash inflow from particular
project in net present value equal to zero (Internal rate of return, 2015). Calculation of IRR
depends on the formula of net present value that is NPV. Besides, the difference is while
calculating internal rate of return, net present value is considered as equal to zero. Moreover,
assumption of cost in most of the project investment is common but when the IRR rate is high it

Recommendation
Internal rate of return from project is 28.85% that is UKBC college can invest in this
project. Moreover, the Net present value of the project is also positive which is 7709 reflects
favourable results for the college. Hence, as per the net present value criteria positive value
denotes that the project can be accepted by the university as it indicates positive returns. It can be
recommended that IRR obtained is more than 10% which denotes favourable returns for the
company. Hence, the university can invest in this project for profitable returns.
CONCLUSION
By concluding the current report of business decision making it can be said that, the
statistical tools are techniques are highly supportive for the both campuses of UKCBC college in
order to take effective decisions. Along with this, it able to make solutions of different business
problems in adequate and fruitful manner. It can be said from the SPSS tool that, Lords house
has more students which are like 35 among 60 selected sample size. Moreover, in the second
campus like Wentworth house, there is only 25 students studied. Major number of the pupils are
studied under the course of business management and travel and tourism which are like 30 and
15 respectively. Hence, it can be said that, management needs to make improvement in such kind
of the course due to studying and taking education in more proportion. Further, they are satisfied
with the quality of course up to the slighter and moderate extent. It can be assessed from the
trend line that, in the upcoming years, in the course of business management more students will
take admission as compare to the others. It can be suggested that, both the campuses need to
provide adequate and on time information to the students. Along with this, they should behave
like adults and give respects.
