STYLE GUIDE FOR POLICY DOCUMENTATION
The following guidelines need to be followed by MacVille for developing standard policy
documents. The documents must be stored in the name of the policy.
Heading: The policy name must be the heading of the document.
Policy statement: The purpose of policy must be explained in a concise manner.
Applicability: This section will address the people in the organization to whom the policy
applies.
Detailed statement of policy: This section will contain the complete policy in details.
Definitions: This section will define important HR and technical terms (optional).
Related policies: This section will define related policies (if needed).
Formatting guidelines:
Paragraph: Every paragraph must begin with a tab for enhancing the readability.
Font: The font of the content must be 12 Times New Roman.
Headings: The title of the policy must be size 14. The sub headings of the policy must be
size- 13, font for both- Times New Roman.
Spacing: The spacing of the entire document must be 2.0 cm.
Margins: The margins in all sides must be 2.5 cm. The box page border must be selected.
Bullets: Important points must be given in bullets or roman numbering style.
