BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND GREEN AGENDA Climate is usually a weather of a place and it can be different accordance to seasons. A place may be warm and dry in summer, and same place may be wet and cool in winter. So the different place have different climate. And climate change is change in the usual weather of a place and it also a change in earth's climate. Climate change also called the global warming which refers to rising temperature on the earth (What is climate change,2019). Changing climate is the part of everyday lives and which affects directly or indirectly on human activity Climate change is the most important threat andchallenge now a days for the business environment. Climate change like extrema heat w aves can have the negative impact on the business and society. There are many things that causes of the changing climate like distance from the sun can be change and the sun can rise more or less energy to earth and because of this oceans can change, volcano erupts and this change climate. But in present era humans are the main reason of changing climate. People drives car, heat and cool their houses, cook food all those things take more energy and another way they get energy by burning coal, oil and gas. Because of burning ll these things put gases in the air and these air causes to heat up air. This can change the climate of a place and also causes of changing earth's climate (What Is Climate Change,2017). Apart from this number of vehicles, aeroplanes and engine are produced every year with this lot of artificial things are produced and ended up as waste dumps. People produce more wastes. All these greenhouse's gases created and wrap the earth and become the cause of warming up the earth. The main cause of changing climate is global warming which may have negative consequences on physical, biological and human and also effects other too.Global warming is the cause of greenhouse effects. Without the greenhouse effect the average temperature would be 18 degree. The main problem is that human activities maximize the greenhouse effects. The effect of the changing climate can be seen aro8nd the world and UK as well. Temperature of UK has already been risen. In the UK, 40% of CO2emissions are caused of individuals by using energy in their home, driving and travel (How Climate Change Will Affect Businesses,2018). Climate change affects the human life and environment, business, and public services.High temperature, heavy rainfall, rising sea level,health, agriculture, wildlife and many thingsaffected from the climate change. Unpredictable weather can affect directly to the business in number of ways. For example increasing risk of shortage of water and flooding, this might be the reason of disruption to business and it become difficult to get insurance. Climate 1
change have the impact on agriculture and production operation of the company. Heavy rainfall and flood spoil the field and because of this supply of the agriculture products and scarcity of water leads to reduction of food supply and because of this threats, global increase commodity price, social and political unrest and inflation and because of this economy goes slow down. Business will have to face problem like extreme financial and physical damages. Extreme weather or climate change create the problem of resource allocation and cost. Resources will not be provided in enough quantity or in zero quantity because of the less availability of resources company will have to reduce their production and increase the cost of the products and the demand of the products will fall down. In 2003 UK experienced one of the most significant heat waves recorded in history, due to heat tens of thousands died this turned out to be hottest summer in more than 500 years. This Working condition due to increase temperature become harsh for the employees in some sectors where the cooling system can not be use like for outdoor or field job (HOW IS CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTING THE UK,2018). This create the health and safety risk in those industry ad labours are not be able to work for long. Due to the less production and demand in company have to change their regulations and policies top gain the extra sources of revenue. UK government powered itself for a full day without coal. This is the first time of the industrial revolution and announced to cut off all the coal-fired plant by 2025 to meet the greenhouse gases. For this companies in UK can establish CSR to supplement carbon emission reductions over large scale. CSR (Corporate social responsibility) will help the UK government to make sustainable change in the environment. This effort of UK government is not just about top cut coal but replacing the coal and fossil fuels with smarter and cleaner forms of energy. Scotland has grown as global leader of wind energy, with the ambition plan to produce 100 percent of its gross annual electricity consumption through renewable by 2020. CAREER PLAN Human resource is important assets for any organisation and heart of a company. It plays very important role in day to day business. They hire the right talent for the right vacant in the organisation and also responsible for centralise multiple human resource functions like benefits, administration,payroll,recruitmentandselection,traininganddevelopment,rewardand recognition (Why did you choose HR or why do you want to be in the HR department,2018). Internal factors are HR team members, policies and procedures, work environment, communication and impact on the organisation that affect the HR department and its activity as whole. Other strengths of HR is to good salary package, wide platform to enhance skill and learn many more things that are very important in daily life like communication skill, building relationship with others and employees, opportunity to shape other employee's career and give people joband other internal factors are the company's strengths and weakness that influence the work of HR (4 External Factors that Affect Human Resource Management,2019).Internal budget of the company, bad reputation of the company in the employment marketplace, lack of benefits to employers to retain them in the organisation, low employee turnover, lack of suitable and proper training or lack of motivation. Theses internal factors influence the activity of the HR and also affect the HR industry in the market. If company has bad negative reputation and lack of resources then HR department is bound to provide all the benefits to the employees and also unable to give wages and salary on time this effect the image of HR career in future. External factors that affect the HR industry are market competition, labour supply and compensation,governmentregulation,economiccondition,technologicaladvancement, workforce organisation these are the factors that affect the HR industry and department in the company. With the introduction of new workplace human resource department is constantly under pressure to maintain the standard by staying within law. These type of governance 3
regulation influence every operation of HR department including hiring, training, compensation, termination and many more (Opportunities for HR Practices,2019). And another one of the main external factor is economic condition if economic condition of country and company as well affect the HR activity and affect the ability to hire anyone in the company. Technological factors tat influence the HR. technology brings advancement and new skills requirements so companies need to aware of proficiency and training when planning. As Technological factors make easy the work load of many people to a single people so there is chance to cut off the hiring and reducing career in HR industry. Another factor is the competition in the market. As this HR industry provide wide range of opportunities and scope for the new talent it create the high competition in the market between the candidates. High number of candidates will lead to less opportunity to get a job in this HR industry. There is also a political risk in the path of this industry career, as the government change their policies company will have change their rules and time of inflation, company also have to deploy and cut off the employees HR department have to suffer and and it also have the issue to career path and hiring new entry in organisation (Internal and External Factors Affecting Human Resources,2019). 4
